My fiancé and I won tasting gift cards about 3 years ago from a non-profit that were donated by River, and we finally decided to use them! I cannot say enough good things about River and his staff. It was evident that River was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about tequila, mezcal, its history, and all it entails. We cannot wait to come back when our friends visit to show them this amazing atmosphere and hospitality!

Bebedero makes the best margaritas around and the food is outstanding. The service is top notch.

This place is a find. Great food. Extensive menu. Best Margarita I have tasted since leaving California. The decor and artwork are extraordinary. The service was beyond excellent.

My favorite restaurant in Charlottesville! Food was excellent. Ambiance fun and nice, not pretentious. Bartender was awesome and made sure I was happy with my meal and double checked to accommodate my tree nut allergy. Really great experience! Highly recommend!

I was finishing my $8.00 Bold Rock IPA AND A man decided to put his hands on me to leave the bar at 1:34am when the bar closed at 2am!!! This place needs to reconsider who they hire, I am not done here!!! HOW DARE some younger male put his hands on me to leave the bar 20 minutes BEFORE the bar is actually CLOSED!!! Do better!!!!

Best margaritas in town!! Nachos and Tacos were outstanding. Felt a bit rushed since restaurant was closing early for private event- even though we had a reservation.

Our group of four visited The Bebedero early on New Year's Eve, before a show at The Jefferson Theater. While the food and our Server were world-class, the initial greeting (or lack thereof) nearly spoiled the evening. The restaurant itself is a gem—cozy, laid-back, and filled with stunning original artwork by the Owner. Our waiter, William (I think this is his name!), was the absolute highlight of the service. He was personable, engaging, and gave us excellent recommendations. Unfortunately, the experience with the Hostess was the polar opposite. We weren't greeted with a "hello" or even a smile upon arrival. The bar was bustling and the dining tables were all open. The Hostess was about to seat us at a table near the bar - we asked if we could instead be seated at a window table, she moved our menus without a single word. Even when my husband tried to break the ice with a joke, he was met with total silence. It felt as though we were a total inconvenience to her. Total icy, super-negative vibe. It's a shame, as the hostess sets the tone for the whole house. I was ready to walk out because of her unwelcoming attitude. The Food (The Real Star), despite the rocky start - the kitchen blew us away: Cocktails: The Sangria is a must-try! Appetizers: The Queso Fundido and the Esquites (recommended by William) were SO delicious. Entrees: The steak tacos my Friends ordered were a hit, and my Husband claimed the chicken leg dish was possibly the best chicken he's ever had. My Enchiladas Suizas were flavorful and perfectly portioned. YUMMY! Sides: Don't skip the Yucca Fries with cilantro dressing! This is a 5-star kitchen with 5-star waitstaff, but the front-of-house attitude needs a MAJOR adjustment. We will definitely be back for the food and the vibe next time we are in Charlottesville, but we hope for a warmer welcome next time!

Fantastic experience. Very festive and humming – we had an 8:30 reservation and had the last table. There was a DJ setting up for Latin dancing around 10 PM but we had no trouble hearing each other. Our waitress was spot on with her recs – we shared the minichangas and esquites apps and enchiladas suizas. Everything was prompt, warm and delicious - seasoned beautifully with just a little bit of heat. We also enjoyed our cocktails – kiss me through the foam was especially different and tasty. It ended up being a lot of food so we will also enjoy our doggy bag ;) Highly recommend!

Delicious modern Mexican in downtown Charlottesville. Every item had unique flavors and pleasant presentation. Good selection of gluten free items as well.

We are visiting Charlottesville for a few days and stumbled into this place on a Sunday night. Their menu was more limited but still delicious. The taco selections were all great. We started with guacamole that had basil in it (new to us) and the drinks were yummy. One in our group had a tequila tasting and loved it. A great night on a very chilly Sunday!

Had a long wait for food but the team were 10/10. They even took zero payment despite me offering. The food was lovely, drinks great, and service excellent. I don’t mind waiting. People are always in a rush. The service was excellent and I’m looking forward to going back.
