We were promptly seated when we entered The Fitzroy at 2:30 and we were given a menu. I was not expecting much when I went in The Fitzroy for my first time. I was expecting less when I looked at their limited lunch menu of chicken wings, pretzel, chicken sandwich, burger, vegetarian sandwich, or a Caesar salad. Leaving did cross my mind more than once as I considered the six basic choices for lunch. Then as I looked around I could painly see I was in a bar and not a restaurant. They had two long bars and one row of booths and tables. I decided on a bar burger, which for whatever reason, they called their Fitzroy Burger. According to their menu description, it was just a regular cheeseburger on a brioche bun. We order a pretzel for an appetizer. It came with a sharp cheddar cheese sauce and mustard dip. The pretzel wasn't anything special. It had a good warm taste but I prefer more salt on my pretzel than this one had on arrival. Our main orders of burgers and wings were served to us as soon as possible. The brioche bun on my Fitzroy Burger had been steamed and was still warm. The hamburger was surprisingly delicious, and so were the fries that came with it. One of our burgers was on ciabatta bread. The ciabatta bread was warm and fresh, and without an upcharge. The side Caesar salad was also tasty. Our waitress was very effiecient and she continued to check on us and refill our water glasses. This was an unexpected pleasant lunch experience for me and the others at my table. I am looking forward to returning for another lunch time experience, when I am in need of a bar burger and fries. I did notice a change in their kitchen staff at 3pm. Maybe this was their shift change time for their kitchen staff.

Terrible service, the server was extremely rude. Asked for their St. Patrick's day special whiskey and ended up being served lime water. The server denied saying there was whiskey in it and started justifying herself. I asked for a replacement and instead she gave me half a shot and charged me for that as well. This is my second review of Fitzroy and I would summarize saying Fitzroy hasn't disappointed in disappointing me!

The burger was delightful as was the fried chicken entree. The cast iron Mac and cheese was well worth the $10.

Bare walls and open seating amplify the sound. Need quiet booths. Couldnt hear husband across table! Art, drapes, upholstery, rugss, .... otherwise its a lovely bowling alley with amazing food.

The Fitzroy has a divine, classy atmosphere with lovely accent walls, comfortable booths, and gorgeous wood accents. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and add to your dining experience. The food is delightful, and there’s such a diverse, but not overwhelming menu. My fiance and I had a wonderful time, and were blown away at how affordable it was! A must go!

I had high hopes for this restaurant to surpass the reviews. It was a nice restaurant with a good ambiance and great service that unfortunately did not follow through with the food. The appetizer, Short Rib Rolls, and drinks were the best part of the meal. I would recommend that appetizer and the Pear Mule. We got the Short Rib sandwich, side of Brussels, salmon, and a side of kale Caesar salad. The short rib sandwich was underwhelming and could've benefited from toasted bread and an aioli but the sweet potato fries that came with it were good. The side of Brussels was unfortunate. It had good flavor but was severely overdone leaving them quite mushy. The salmon was dry and very fishy and the sides to it were bland. The kale Caesar came without kale but had a nice lemon Caesar dressing. I would recommend this place for the drinks as the Pear Mule was very tasty and the bartender was friendly. They have quick service and are open until 2am. We were disappointed with the poor food outcome but if that improved could see this place being a highly recommended spot.

Nice and attentive server but the food left something to be desired. I asked for a medium rare burger and was told the kitchen smashes the burger. I didn't quite get that and when the burger arrived I was quite disappointed. It was the thinnest burger I've eaten outside of Burger King, totally well done and was dripping with cheese. The side, a large serving of Brussels sprouts, was extremely sugary.Parking: About 3 minutes away, fine.

tried two different draft beers and they both had that funky taste that happens when the taps aren't cleaned in too long. Can selections were only two domestic light beers. Some of the food was good but the wings were overcooked. Atmosphere is very loud and exho-y.

Absolutely amazing food. Do yourself a favor and get the goat cheese artichoke dip, the dip and the chips are some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Everything else was really good. As for atmosphere, it was fine, just a little bit loud, but I know a lot of people prefer that. The service was great, too.
