Just a great experience. The staff is phenomenal, they love what they do. Laii is a gem. I just had the cheese and chocolate fondu, they were divine (maybe a little less nutmeg would be fine, but no big deal, and others love it). At $60 per person with a glass of wine and salad I would not call it great value, but not too expensive either. Def will do again.
So I sent in a private communication to this restaurant last week and have heard nothing back, so I guess I now have to make it public. I wanted to do restaurant week last week and made a reservation. I wanted to go solo. Sometimes after working customer service where I talk all day, I want to treat myself to a quiet private meal. But they called me to say they would have to DOUBLE the price if I wanted to dine alone, they claimed due to the portions being for 2 people... but...
I came in to celebrate my birthday alone after the weather derailed my party plans. I thought it might be awkward being alone in a place with lots of families and date nights, but the staff went out of their way to make it special. I had a card waiting for me and Leighanne, the bartender and my server, was very attentive while letting me work through my food at my own pace while I also enjoyed reading a good book.
