My girlfriend and I had a fantastic experience here. The food was excellent, the drinks were very good, and our waiter was professional and knowledgeable. Additionally, it is not cheap, but the prices are certainly fair. Would recommend!

I really enjoyed our meal. We all got something different and we all loved our dishes. The scallop appetizer was prepared perfectly. The cheese plate was perfect. The manager and server were so attentive and helpful. The bar was a little slow but they were busy and the server kept us updated as to the status of things as needed. We couldn't have asked for a better night. Will definitely go back! The restaurant isn't huge but it felt warm and cozy. I'd love to go back and sit in the wine room.

We attended for an event and reserved the private room. The atmosphere was great, the service was wonderful and the food was amazing. I highly suggest this spot for date nights, bachelorette dinners, or just because! We had the cheese board, charcuterie board and the scallops for apps. All wonderful. Then we had the steak, specialty pasta, and cassoulet. All amazing. They were very sweet and gifted the bride in our party a dessert. Definitely a must go to, and don't forget to get the pink grouse drink- delicious!

Terrible experience for a prefunction happy hour before our daughter's parents' formal. We waited 45 min just to get our drinks. The server forgot our food order and we were there nearly 90 min before getting two appetizers. One of the oysters had a large bug in it and they didn't offer to refund us! They took $5 off our overall bill. Super disappointing for what seemed like a fine dining establishment.

It’s taken days to get over how truly revolting the food was at the Pink Grouse. I met up with friends from afar in Charlottesville (stayed at Quirk) so our dinner of the evening should’ve been exceptional. With the very limited menu, pricing, & beautiful ambiance, I had high hopes. Every meal was not just subpar, they were gross. I got the fish dish with potatoes & asparagus. It tasted like a very average lean cuisine. The vegetables were barely cooked & there was no sauce or flavor. My fish was thin & dry. Our server rarely checked in but when he finally did, I asked for salt & pepper which made little impact. My friends got the oyster mushroom dish (gag) & the linguini (the best of the 3 but was swimming in water from the mussels). The server never removed our dish ware & the crumbs from our appetizer, which seems odd in a place where dishes are around $40/plate. I wish I could reverse time & go to one of the dozens of wonderful restaurants Charlottesville has to offer instead of the Pink Grouse.

Reserved a table for 8 the day of and they were nice enough to put us in the private room. Service was exceptional and food was great. I didn't realize gratuity was included until I added my own tip, but they were nice enough to take my additional tip off after I realized. We really enjoyed the cheese board and the Q salad was to die for. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely be back!

We went for a birthday dinner. The restaurant was not crowded at all, confusingly. Our waiter was on top of everything, helpful. Food was great value, good sized portions. Perfectly cooked duck, huge cheese board, and salad and dessert really good. It’s too bad more people don’t know about the place yet. Would certainly return. Once they straighten out the wine situation…

I went to The Pink Grouse with my supervisor for Restaurant week in Charlottesville. The first thing that caught my eye was the space. It's beautifully decorated with a modern, funky feel. The server was very attentive, always smiling and allowed us to sit for awhile having a cocktail before ordering. We had 3 courses, and each one was just as good as the previous course. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The cocktails were expertly crafted, we never felt rushed, and it was an overall excellent experience. I highly recommend this place. Restaurant week or not, I will absolutely return!

Best from a chef! A foodie's delight! Every plate from Q Salad to Branzino and Short Ribs and desserts were impeccably prepared and presented. Thank you Chef Chuck Adcock. Table service was proper, welcoming and attentive, everyone pitched in. (DIners can disregard the ambiance, but do go for the fantastic food and service.) Food and Beverage Manager Stephen Kelly, thank you for evolving Pink Grouse. This was a great experience.

Wonderful experience. Found four watering holes in one! The rooftop, the main dining at the Pink Grouse, the lobby bar and eatery, and the Bono? ( whisky bar) The food was excellent and the service professional.

The food was just okay, but not nearly worth the price. The restaurant was completely empty, which made the ambiance less than appealing. When we made our reservation, it asked if we were coming for any special occasion. My husband put in that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and it was not mentioned once by any of the staff. We spent $75 on just our main course alone and left hungry and disappointed.

I don't like to write negative reviews. This was going to be our "splurge " night. Started out well with cocktails on the rooftop. Then down to the restaurant. Not a posh place at all. In our time there a total of 4 tables served. We had seen two different menus both of which were ok. If you have food issues , as I do, prob don't wNt to go here. Very small menu. Changes often. I will say I checked it from rooftop and again after we ate and it was in no way anything like the actual menu. Clearly if you can't get it on the day you can't be sure. Of course there was very little on the menu I could eat. Waiter was also host. Nice young boy but really out of his comfort zone. We ordered the gazpacho to share as an app . Clearly said to start and to share. Then hubby ordered the barramundi for his entree. I said I'll have the smoked trout app as my main course. He brings us the two main courses but no gazpacho. I said why he said I though you wanted it as an app. So we said no don't bring it now that you be served the entrees , he clearly had no clue. My trout was supposed to come with pears and crispy nopales. No crispy anything and when I asked he said they ran out So I asked for crackers but no so asked for bread Ok finally brought me some nice grilled bread and charged me $4 , wonder how much the nopales I didn't get were? Def needed dessert and both desserts were great. Total bill before tip was $180. We did have three rounds of wine. Very much not the special night we were hoping for. Ps when I do poached pets I core them. Not here they don't.

Just a terrible experience shared by othered we have spoken to. Menu posters here on web site was not even close to the menu we were presented. If you have specifics good needs as I do you should not go here unless you see the menu in advance e. We were having a cocktail at rooftop bar( very nice by the way) and should have eaten light fare menu there. Serve sadly was inept, the young waiter was clearly out of his comfort zone. The barumendi was good as were the desserts. The rest was a fiasco. Ordered gazpacho “to share as a starter” my exact words. Had to order smoked trout app as my main as there was bothering else in the very limited menu I could eat. He brought the fish dinner and trout and we asked about the gazpacho. Said he was going to bring it now. We declined it. Supposed to be crust nopales with trout but the “ran out”. I asked for bread or crackers. Finally came out with some nice grilled bread for which we were charged $4, wonder how much the crispy nopales would cost as they were not deducted from the price. Only two desserts on menu. We had both as we were starving. Both were very good. Our bill before tip was $180 But we had three rounds as it all took so Long.

The food is very tasty, but the service is poor. The server brought me my check without me asking for it, without asking me if I wanted dessert, and despite it being early, and me being there for less than one hour in a 3/4 empty restaurant, and after having ordered the most expensive items on the menu. There was absolutely no reason for him to bring me the check at that time. This is poor service, which is a pity because the food is good. I will not return.
