Went there as a suggestion from ChatGPT. HOMERUN!!!! We got a 16pc meal with 4 sides (mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans). It was all amazing! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this place the next time you're wanting some fried chicken!!
Wayside catering and takeout is delicious!! We walked a couple miles for exercise and were heading for coffee and fresh air, but saw this adorable diner and fried chicken restaurant. Hands down best fried chicken in Charlottesville. Great seasoning and crust, perfectly cooked. And they make the REAL kind of cole slaw, the only cole slaw I have yet to try anywhere around here that isn't just bland mayonnaisey tasting. Theirs has real zing to it. It reminds me of slightly of horseradish, but isn't spicy or hot. Maybe celery seed? Whatever the secret ingredient, to us it's the only cole slaw in town worth buying.
