Hands down best fried chicken in Charlottesville. Great seasoning and crust, perfectly cooked. And they make the REAL kind of cole slaw, the only cole slaw I have yet to try anywhere around here that isn't just bland mayonnaisey tasting. Theirs has real zing to it. It reminds me of slightly of horseradish, but isn't spicy or hot. Maybe celery seed? Whatever the secret ingredient, to us it's the only cole slaw in town worth buying. And good desserts like the lemon...
Awesome food. Never open when I need it. I live a block away, I would eat here every day if I could. Yall are popular, you DON’T need to keep having these covid hours. LET. ME. IIIINNNN!!!
I love Wayside, especially since they brought back breakfast! The staff is always friendly and the food is exactly as expected. In a town where local quick and authentic service/diner options (and good chicken options) are dwindling, I'm continuously thankful that Wayside is still around and still killing the chicken game.
