This hidden gem is like the best kept secret. It's off the beaten path, so you wouldn't know you're even passing it, but frankly, I think that's what I like the most about it.

Took some house guests to the Amber Lantern, the food and atmosphere were excellent. It’s a much quieter restaurant than some of the others in Chesapeake so you can actually have a conversation without yelling. We've been here several times. This is a good restaurant, but it could be better. My wife and I visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed our meals but had mixed feelings about a vegetable medley side (heavy with corn and overcooked) and the service. Our server, Grace, was good, but not as attentive as we would have liked. The restaurant may have been short-staffed, which might explain.
