It seems things have shifted here. Everyone was nice, but food and service has gone downhill and prices have gone up. I want to give a better review, and maybe it was just an off night or maybe they were understaffed. Food was not great and service wasn't either. Waited a long time to order dinner after appetizer was finished. I know they were trying, and I don't think it was a lack of effort. Just not what we have experienced in the past. I hope we just came on an off night. Again, everyone was very pleasant, though and I did appreciate that.
We felt it was way overpriced for what it was. It's a nice, little restaurant and the staff is nice. We were seated for our reservations immediately. However, it took the server several minutes to acknowledge us and take our drink orders. My husband ordered a Bloody Mary and they didn't have the mix to make that drink. He then ordered iced tea and when it was served, was told that there was only about 2-3 more glasses available. Another person in our party ordered a beer that was on their drink menu and was told they were out of it. The prices are that of a high end fine dining restaurant. The restaurant, in our opinion, is not that.
Everything about this experience was amazing from the time we walked in until the time we left. The food was outstanding. Brandy our server was so good that I will ask for her each time I go and I plan on being a regular. I want to gatekeep so bad but I will tell others. ?
First time coming to this restaurant and I was very impressed. The food was phenomenal and the service was outstanding. We ordered the charcuterie board and it had caper berries which I'm now obsessed. The staff were very attentive. Love this restaurant and we will definitely be back.
The next time I want to spoil my bride with a fine dining option, I am choosing this place. It's a small little place. However inside, it is a top tier experience. The staff are clearly professionals. They were experts in the food, drinks, and the friendliest people to talk to.The food, is exceptional to say the least. This is one of the finer qualities meals I have had in the past decade. That being said, it fits to form for a fine dining experience. The portions were very small with stunning displays. Each bite was a marvel, but two entrees and an appetizer was close to $100.Next time, to ensure I am not hungry afterwards, I'll snack on something before hand. I am not critiquing their sizes or prices. I hope to just help set expectations. My only real criticism, was that the staff either were trying something new, or were unorganized on who was taking care of us. We had two of their staff members visit us continuously for the first half of the night. One would come over and suggest something, when the other would stop by within the next few minutes. I didn't even know who our true server was and it wasn't clear what part of our order was being placed by whom. Once I mentioned that it seemed like we already had help, they narrowed it down to one staff member for the remainder of our visit.Lastly, we were welcomed in with a t-shirt and jeans. But I kind of wish we hadn't been. This place was beautiful and the food matched it. I would really like a place like this for nicer attire. My wife disagrees and thought it was wonderful we were welcomed in.To go with it, the music they played seemed kind of goofy. This low light, gorgeous food, exceptional staff establishment had the beach boys playing. Not that the beach boys are bad. Just seemed like an odd thing to have compared to everything elseOverall, I think this is a place to watch and go to. I certainly will be returning. Any criticism I have here is probably overly critical, don't let any points I have dissuade you from having one of the best meals in Chesapeake.

Charming little tapas place, lots of delicious small plates. Very busy on a Wednesday, clearly popular! Shaved Brussel salad and half loaf were standard but very good, highlighted by the olive oil and truffle herb compound butter. Sliders were flavorful, just maybe a touch dry, but not bad at all. Kefla Flambe was excellent, and of course the spot-on presentation is always a delight. Forgot to snap a pic of our bronzed scallops, but they were delicious as well, with outstanding chorizo and mango chutney. Korean Short Ribs with Yuzu BBQ were perfectly savory, a must-try! Lavender cheesecake and pistachio ricotta cake were an ideally unique and sweet way to finish the meal. Great, friendly service, easy to see why this place has so many great reviews and is so popular!

We had an amazing experience at Kapers Eatery: Slightly Sophisticated Small Plates and Spirits tonight. It was our first visit, and we made reservations on OpenTable. We were greeted on entry and taken to our tall table, given water immediately while we looked over the menu.I ordered the Hibiscus Martini, and hubby the a house Whiskey Sour. Our server Jeff, was attentive and helpful. Our first round of plates was chimichurri steak bites, bacon and goat cheese dip with crostinis, and The Carolina BBQ slider. All delicious and perfect for sharing. We followed with peach pannzanella salad and lumpia. We finished the meal with house made limoncello and lemon blueberry cheesecake. The atmosphere was great, perfect for a date night. Service was friendly and attentive. Establishment was clean and inviting. There are tons of shareables on the menu, plus an entire specials menu.Definitely the first of many trips. 10/10!

Everything, from the food, to the service, to the sommelier and bartender, was excellent. Best we've had in a long time, and we will be back! The chef came out to chat, had us try the Brussel sprouts, which my husband actually liked!! It was just so good!
The prices are so high for such a small amount of "tapas". $12 for 6 deviled eggs (which were just deviled eggs with some sauce drizzled lightly on top). Two chicken tenders on skewers; $16. The she-crab soup was full of (parmesan?) and VERY thin. I will say that, other than the soup, everything tasted good and the atmosphere was nice but the dishes were BEYOND overpriced.

The small plates were so imaginative and delicious! Definitely go with the staff recommendations!!! Everyone was super friendly and helpful with the food and cocktail descriptions. The cocktails were amazing, especially the originals that Josh brought to the table! Chef Kevin came out to chat and explain his process and to chat about what's coming as well. May be a bit off the beaten path, but totally worth the trip! We'll be back again soon!
How fortunate are we to have this gem in Chesapeake! It's tucked in a small shopping center off Battlefield. It was easy to make a reservation for 3 on Open Table. We were running a few minutes late, so we called ahead to let them know, and they were very accommodating. The entire staff was very attentive and engaged with us. Their sommelier (I think Josh?) made a beautiful recommendation for wine to go with our seafood dishes. They had some featured specials, including a pasta carbonara, which I had to have. I was delighted by how flavorful it was. If I had some bread (which they do have available to order), the rest of that carbonara yolky goodness would have been gone! We told them we were celebrating our son's college graduation, and they brought us a lovely house made limoncello. So tasty! We took 3 slices of their homemade cheesecake to go, and it made for an excellent dessert. We were so pleasantly surprised with our visit and cannot wait to return to try more. Cheers!
