Jack Mason's Tavern & Brewery

Whenever I find myself traveling interstate 64 near the Clifton forge exit I'll go out of my way to make a stop at Jack Mason's tavern... Great pub food, friendly comfortable atmosphere,
And attentive staff... Everything you could ask for for a road trip pit stop....

We came here by chance and happy we did. The food was great. Flavors on point: their beer was decent too as we did a flight. Both of our entrees were good and portions/prices were on point. If we’re ever in the area again we would definitely stop by.

Great burgers and the best pulled pork I've ever had.

Haven’t been in two years after a terrible experience. Decided to try again. Walked in the door and waited for a hostess, was never greeted or acknowledged, two other guests come in after us and are immediately seated. Needless to say we walked out.

An hour after we ordered we still didn't have our food while six people that hadn't been there thirty minutes had gotten theirs. When it did finally come the soup was cold and had s thick film on it like it had been sitting for an hour. Place has really went downhill since new owners took over.
Thought I'd give this place another try since the last time went so poorly. Walked in and waited for a hostess to seat us. While waiting another couple walked in and we're immediately seated. We were completely ignored.

Staff was nice and overall the food was good. Had a slight hiccup with the food, but was correctly quickly. Main qualm was they are a bit slow, even when the place isn't busy.

Amazing service and awesome food. Quickly got a table on a Sunday evening headed back to VMI. 5 of us around a huge table with plenty of room for food, drinks, and games. We actually played Yahtzee while eating dinner!
Chili bowls were well liked. I had the sausage and kraut and the wife had chicken. Plus a few desserts like peach cobbler and the hot brownie.
No complaints from anyone and enjoyed the atmosphere and the server ladies with tons of smiles.

JMT was slammed and still delivered hot and delicious plates. Jordan was a wiz on bar and Abby was amazing.

The quality of the food was surpassed only by the service. Destinee was friendly, professional, and courteous to all guests.

Beautiful old building with lots of character and fun things to do
Food was pretty solid, not quite hot though
Very slow as well. Took about 70 minutes to recieve entrees but it was busy for a small town

Enjoying brussel sprouts, pub steak and potatoes with German sweet sauerkraut. Listening to Clay Wimbish Band. Dinner is delicious. Staff is nice and attentive. Clay Wimbish plays and great. He sang my request Wheels on the Bus. Did well.

Awesome bar and grill. I got the spicy tavern burger and it was very tasty. Local brews tried the local kolsch beer and it was tasty. Awesome service and reasonably priced. Skip the nachos but otherwise great.

Was pleasantly greeted by the hostess when we walked in after a day of hiking and was seated right away and that was the only service we got. After being seated the hostess disappeared and we waited for our waitress. We waited 10-15min just to be greeted which we never got. There was a handful of serves that walked by us, looked at us but would not approach us. We ended up leaving and going to another brewery where they would serve us.

We don’t get here often but it is a location we always stop when driving by. The food & drinks are always good, staff always friendly.
