There are lots of Mexican or Latino restaurants in the TriCities area but Don Jose’s has always and still has the reputation of being the best. They really do a good job, and the food is outstanding.
Great neighborhood place owned and operated by a local family, at least one of whom will help serve you. Frequently the owner is the guy refreshing drinks and helping clear away serving dishes. Excellent food! I don't need to rhapsodize about the art on the walls or the darling wait staff. You know, looking at the name and the location of the place, exactly the sort of American Mexican this place is and it delivers. The salsa has a nice zip to it (they definitely make their own), the chips are hot, the portions are generous, the avocado is ripe, the sauces are delicious...Honestly you can't really go wrong.
