The best dish was definitely the chicken and biscoff waffles! We had tried the fried green tomatoes, biscuits, and french toast. All was good but it is was a bit expensive for the amount of food you got for the other dishes.

Loved their take on chicken and waffles 🧇 chicken fried to perfection. Bring your appetite- they won’t disappoint!

Food was amazing. It feels like there is no air conditioning. It’s 100 degrees outside. They should close until they get it fixed. It’s unbearable. Their poor employees.

Grabbed breakfast here while visiting and we enjoyed it for the most part. I got the catfish and grits, which they gave plenty of and I got the French toast, bacon & eggs for my child. Great proportion sizes and tasty! Only dislike was the grits being so runny and they said they added cheese but it did not taste nor look like it. I’ll definitely be back, I will just get something else besides the grits. & the honey biscuits are very delicious as well!

Food was good. Our server did the best he could but he wasn’t getting much help serving all the tables and the place was busy. I loved my French toast. My friends were saying how much they liked their shrimp/salmon and grits.

I was lso excited to see that M&H was in colonial heights! I walked in was immediately greeted and sat. I waited about 4 minutes for a server to approach the table, gave her (candy) my drink order, moments later another server (didn’t get his name) came over and again asked for my drink order, I gave him my drink and food order. I went to the restroom, which took about 7 minutes because there was a line, arrived at the table, still no drink. Mind you, this place is rather warm inside especially with the door opening and closing so I was rather thirsty because of the temperature in the establishment. After waiting another 7 or so minutes I flagged down Candy and advised, she apologized and brought over my drink. Shortly after my food arrived, it was not hot, it was warm, and lacked seasoning. I also was given no silverware. So I again had to flag down a server (Candy to the rescue). I drank both my water and tea & was not asked about refilling. I sat another 10-12 minutes waiting for my ‘server’ to come over. Then Candy came to my rescue again, I honestly wanted to tip her so I asked that the check be put in her name but by then my actual server came over. I was finally able to pay, was told there was no more tea so I couldn’t get one to go.. idk if I’ll be back to this one. Especially after going Marylands M&H numerous times prior and never having any issues.

I used to go to this restaurant exclusively for their portion size. They are now serving small wing dings for 18.00. Waste of money I hope they go back to the portion size they used to offer.

good luck

I usually only write reviews when an extreme has happened. Milk & Honey is objectively the best brunch in the whole Chester/Colonial Heights/Hopewell area. I’ve been in town on business for three weeks and I’ve eaten about every place a person can eat… there’s nothing in the region that compares to the Smothered Chicken & Biscuits at Milk & Honey. The whole setup is fantastic- the ambiance, the staff, THE FOOD! I’ll be back and I’m bringing friends next time. Five stars, I’d vote more stars if the platform allowed.

Coffee was extremely weak. Asked for my eggs to be over medium and was told I could only get them over easy or over hard. First time for that in 80 trips around the sun. Biscuits and grits were good.

We wanted so badly to love this restaurant. The restaurant itself is very clean and we loved the vibe. It was opening weekend at the Barracks Road location in Charlottesville, VA so I hope this review will help them improve and be successful. The portions vs. price point do not correlate. We’ve never left a restaurant hungry after paying $100 for a meal until last night.

Visiting some family in the area and tried Milk and Honey for breakfast. From the host that sat us down, I already had a bad feeling. Slouched down and elbows on the reception table while talking to us. Sat down and did not get noticed for over 15 minutes. Not expecting a fast a furious service but seemed like the server was on slow motion and taking her time with every task with all her tables individually and not seemed able to multi task. After taking the order, she forgot lemons in our drinks and prolonged the drinks even longer. Did not check up on us while we ate. Out 2 glasses for refills and she refilled one only. Just lacks attention to details. Waited over 10 min after we were done for the check. Meals I would say was 4.5 stars. But service did not match the food.

Looking at the kitchen staff, it was obvious they too was in slow motion. Not busy at all but felt like the restaurant was due to long waits and lack of attentiveness
