This restaurant is a hidden gem in Crozet. It's often busy, even in these Pandemic times. Yesterday I took a friend there for her birthday and we hit it after the lunch rush. The place was spotless and we could browse the menu without a line of folks waiting behind us.Instead of my usual cheeseburger platter, I tried the chicken salad, minus bread. It was delicious, as was the cole slaw. The chicken salad had just a hint of tarragon, and that is a welcome addition. I topped the meal off with a piece of coconut cake. The cake was moist and the icing wasn't too sweet. It reminded me of the cakes from childhood.The last noteworthy part of this restaurant is the staff. They are friendly and patient. Good food, good peeps. What more could you want?

Finally made it over here today for my much needed hot dog break. Bought a foot long with spicy chili and Bacon as well as a burger with fries. Dang. Was way too much food for me to finish so not sure why I bought so much. The hot dog was my favorite along with the spicy chili. The Bacon was thick and very good but I would prefer the bacon be crumbled up some or in this case maybe cut up some since it was thick. Just makes it easier t eat this way. The burger was good as were the fries but the dog was what stood out for me,

It is one of the friendliest most welcome places around. It has a great outdoor deck, a room with a fireplace and a variety of places to sit. It is inexpensive and the food is great it is called Trey’s Sams Hot Dog Stand But it also has great fresh homemade burgers, Soups chicken fish plus a long line of varying specials. Stop by for coffee or soda get a snack or meal with friends its great . Or pick up lunch for the office or for dinner for home

The place itself just lifts you up-it is all laid out like they are about to throw a party-Or sit by the fireplace, play some video games or just listen to the music while you eat great homecooked food.Feeling down or lost? pop into Sam's and it will brighten your day.

Oh yum!! Footlong hot dogs with a great assortment of toppings available and fresh cut fries made made for an awesome road trip lunch. The food was made to order, fast and fresh with friendly service. We are in this area fairly often and will definitely be back to try the burgers.
