We like Starr Hill's beers. Especially the Ramble On IPA. Lots of juicy grapefruit, pineapple, and citrus notes clock in at 7% ABV. This beer is part of the regular tap list. On this visit they also had the Last Leaf Brown Ale. Not a style many are making these days and that's a miss, so hat tip to Starr Hill. This English Brown Ale made with Virginia Maple Syrup and both vanilla notes and a malty flavor. Despite the maple syrup is was not too sweet. This was a winner. While the service is very good, the tap room is nothing special. Kinda dark and like an old school college town bar on the inside. To be fair, this location is really about being a production facility. Anyway net/net like the beer, but would not go out of my way to come to this location.

I went in to get a growler filled at 8 pm or so. Plenty of people at tables, chatting with each other, sports on the TV, Pink Floyd on the stereo, but no one at the counter. I waited through the whole guitar solo (Pink Floyd, remember-those solos last a while) and saw no employees. I walked out, empty growler and all, and went to Pro Re Nata instead.

Fun place! Really enjoyed the variety of beer and friendly service. Sunburn was our favorite, but the margarita sour was a close second.

Bummer. Pulled this up on Google Maps yesterday (7/31) and said opened at 1:00pm. Now I’m standing here at 1:55pm wondering who updated Google or Starr Hill. I guess I will never know. WS really looking forward after riding my Harley for two plus hours. Guess Vets never get a break!

I've been here 3 times now, it's not often you find a bar in a small Virginia town where everyone makes you feel welcome. The Northern Lights IPA is refreshing, bright, and crisp. Perfect for these 90 degree days.

Beer was quite good and service was friendly. Just had a hard time with 2 chicken fingers for $10. I get inflation is crazy, but just feels misleading, as you expect 4-6 per order

Big fan of Starr Hill. Friendly bar staff and you can’t go wrong with any of their beers. Easily the best and most consistent beers I could find in the area.

Best brewery in the area, really good beer, fantastic bartenders, and a steady stream of music and other events.

Solid beer, solid hangs. The staff is always cool/chill. We frequently strike up conversation with kind strangers.Starr Hill also has a great history in the craft beer/microbrewing industry.
