The restaurant is certainly crowded, but the staff was exceptionally attentive, polite and swift. The food was perfectly cooked, and for those with gluten allergies/sensitivities/etc, they surprisingly have GF buns. Rosemary fries are very underwhelming in flavor, but perfectly cooked. Overall, as far as restaurant haunts go, it's probably the best in this terminal.
I mean, airport food is airport food, so nothing amazing but not bad. But our server Ghandar was super nice and awesome, so wanted to give him props for being so friendly and being on top of everything despite how busy it was!
Normally, I try to avoid eating at airports, especially at non- national chains. However, a few months ago I found myself at IAD with a long layover.We stopped by Bar Symon and it is potentially the best food I have ever had at an airport. I chose the Fat Doug Burger which has pastrami and swiss cheese on it. The menu may be limited, but what I got appeared to be well thought out and very nicely executed by the kitchen.
