So dirty. Food all over the floor. I saw food sitting out on the counter for 15 minutes before a waiter did anything with it. I ordered my food ahead of time via priority pass and when I got to this place 15 min later no one has even taken the order. All bunch of waiters are just standing around chatting.

Normally, I try to avoid eating at airports, especially at non- national chains. However, a few months ago I found myself at IAD with a long layover.We stopped by Bar Symon and it is potentially the best food I have ever had at an airport. I chose the Fat Doug Burger which has pastrami and swiss cheese on it. The menu may be limited, but what I got appeared to be well thought out and very nicely executed by the kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised and did not anticipate having such a good, burger at an airport.The server was courteous and took great care of us during the time we were there. She checked on us several times and quick with drink refills. The food was brought to our table quickly, and tasted as though it was fresh made. I do not fly into IAD frequently, but when I return, I will be certain to go Bar Symon. I just wish there was a freestanding one of these near me or even at my home airport.I noticed they did have a beyond burger for the vegetarians.It is airport food, so it is going to be pricy. However, it was in line with what i expected to pay at an airport and what I got was superior to anything else I have eaten at an airport for this price point.Vegetarian options: Beyond burger, plant based protein.

Bar Symon was an unexpected, positive airport food surprise. We flew in and were waiting for a late evening connection a couple of months ago and stopped in Bar Symon to grab something to eat prior to boarding a long flight. The server was prompt and the food was brought to our table quickly, I was astonished at how good the food was. If this was a place in my hometown, I could definitely see myself going here on a regular basis. The sandwich was hot, tasted fresh made, and was basic with good flavor combinations. Additionally, it was a fairly hefty sandwich and large amount of parmesan fries. I left full. Of course since it is airport food, it is pricy, but it was not unreasonable. Service was great. The server kept our glasses full and returned to the table at regular intervals to check on us.

Just what you would expect from one of Michael's restaurants.... just in an airport.
Pretty good for airport food. That said it was not cheap. I liked that they had plugs for your electronics so you can charge them while you are eating. I also thought the wait staff was quick and attentive. I will give them a try again when I return.

Words can't explain it. The service was bad. We were charged extra. Tried to explain that we were charged extra to the server . The server argued that we were not so I gave up and that extra that we or charged just became hlthe servers tip.
