Ariake Japanese Restaurant

We are big fans of dinner at Ariake. We recently came for lunch on Monday and the service and quality of the food is just as good.

Amazing sushi! For context, I have had sushi from so many places across 5 countries and this is one of the best I have had outside of japan. One of the best sushi restaurants in the area. Has never disappointed. Ample portion size. Their prices are above average but well below the quality of fish they serve. The restaurant is clean with a good atmosphere. Limited roll menu but will make a request if asked. Have had dine in, take out and delivered to my house all good all and they dont take advantage of take out/delivery. I cannot recommend this place enough if you like sushi/sashimi.
UPDATE As of Nov 2025 still excellent sushi and top service. In my opinion some of the best fish on the east coast.

Please update your operating hours on Google for Saturdays… We invited people and when we arrived the place was closed. It was very inconvenient.

Finally found ma favorite (budget) quality sushi spot in VA.

My wife and I went here on a Saturday night. The food was great and I'd highly recommend them.

They were very busy so if you go on a Saturday night, you might want to call ahead.

But that also proves they are great because they are busy.

Cute and decent but not nearly as good as Burke Fortune House in Burke, VA. 😉 THIS IS THE WAY

Who says you have to travel to Washington, D.C. for great sushi? Ariake Fairfax is absolutely wonderful. The fish is fresh. Service is great. The people there are very friendly. My favorite is the dinner chirashi. I often go to the Reston location as well. Same great quality and service. Go here. This place is a real gem !!

Ate here the other day, and the quality was insane. While the price was a little high, the quality reflects it clearly. Staff are very no nonsense. They fill your drinks, bring you food, but not overbearing or pushy.

Food is good. Pregnant wife was turned away just before closing with our infant son. Also fairly certain my last review was deleted.

The sushi 🍣 deluxe is amazing!

I’ve visited Ariake a lot in the last 8 years this is the first time I’ve been disappointed. I’ve noticed tends to happen to restaurants that get hyped up in food groups or social media for their quality. It’s quite regrettable that their quality on fish has gone down so much. I ordered the fatty toro, toro and mackerel the fish was not good. Next time I think I will have to stick to some of the smaller sushi places that advertise when they receive their fish orders.
