Since we weren't able to have orientation in the Fall I stayed to spend the day with my son. What a beautiful campus. Can't wait to see it in the Spring.
They will do everything in their power to screw you out of years of time and effort and all of your money. Unless you plan on going to them straight out of high school, consider any class you take, even at NOVA, not acceptable credit.
My son attends very happy dorm extra clean and neat alot space for the children to relax and do work and study..

Excellent University. The school's response to managing Covid-19 and the safe return of students to campus has exceeded our expectations!
George Mason University offers 30 Engineering Degree programs. It's a large public university where students are graduated in Engineering too.
Have been an international student here. Degree is worthless and employers will treat as any other university from the area. Doesnt pay off in the end for the premium one pays in fees. If you end up in an issue administration will try to bring you down to their terms instead of giving a fair resolution. They list various concentrations in catalog but promote a few and others are never offered. No placement services for international students. Careers service host numerous career fairs where mostly students are outlined because most of employers need citizens. Official platform for job application offers jobs of dog walkers and all other odd jobs instead of any for entry level for graduating students. In the end you will end up with consulting firms who rip you off taking 70 or 65% of your pay.
Worst University ever. The staff of admission office from the director to the coordinators are not cooperative. Also, they treat people very bad and do not answer their questions when needed. Most of the time they answer with automated e-mails. Probably they do that because this area have many international students and they care more about money. Worst Experience ever. Do not encourage to be part with this university. I have dealt with many Universities never seen University as bad as this one. They do everything and will do anything to take money from you.
George Mason University (Mason, GMU, or George Mason) is a public research university located in Fairfax County near Fairfax City in Virginia.[8] In 1956, the Commonwealth of Virginia authorized the establishment of a Northern Virginia branch of the University of Virginia[9] and the institution that is now named George Mason University opened in September 1957.[10] It became an independent institution in 1972.[1] It has since grown to become the largest four-year public university in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The university is named after the founding father George Mason, a Virginia planter and politician who authored the Virginia Declaration of Rights that later influenced the future Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution. Mason operates four campuses in Virginia (Fairfax, Arlington, Front Royal, and Prince William), as well as a fifth campus in South Korea.
A good commuter school with a high quality education. If you’re coming here expecting the typical college experience, then my advice is to look elsewhere. GMU is not winning any awards in the school pride department, although the b-ball team is actually pretty decent. While all that could change in the future, for now this school is relatively boring. Now, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The education is top-notch with great economics, engineering, IT, and nursing programs. You’ll also get the most bang for your buck here, and a degree from Mason will surely be very valuable when you graduate. All in all, it’s a school that achieves a single goal (despite all the marketing that may say otherwise): education, and a good one at that.
