I felt a genuine void in my soul caused by the depth of my disappointment in the desserts here.

What a amazing place! Layered’s fruit desserts are incredibly fresh and flavorful — I loved the mango and raspberry, also coffee one was amazing. Perfect spot for a sweet treat!

Not a place for dieters and diabetic! Desserts that you would not see in a regular bakery (which tastes light, airy, creamy and good) and specialty coffee drinks which fit in (though it's a tad too sweet for us.) If you bring kids, expect them to grow attached to this location (and make them eventual foodies.) Interior makes you think you stepped into a nice hotel lobby, which is steps up from a regular Starbucks and bar! Location is great with tons of parking and near the public library. Just don't get the alcoholic drinks - does not go well with the food. Expensive for everyday, but great for special occasions.

Overpriced, overhyped !! Came and tried mango, brûlée some and coffee dome, none were good enough to justify $50 crazy! But I wanted to try now I know I will never come back, nice place though!

I wasn't really impressed with the atmosphere. The business probably loves it. I just expected a more quieter place with such decadent pastries. They are beautifully artistic but not delicious. The workers were the most pleasant there. I wanted to try and I did. Wouldn't return. Not my vibe.

I recently visited Layered, a cozy and stylish coffee shop that has quickly become a local favorite for its beautifully presented drinks and desserts. The interior is modern yet inviting, with soft lighting and comfortable seating that makes it a great spot to relax, catch up with friends, or even get some work done.

One of Layered’s standout features is their selection of fruit-based desserts. The mango and strawberry creations are vibrant, fresh, and full of flavor, while the chocolate options are rich and indulgent without being overly sweet. I especially appreciated that all of their offerings are Halal, which makes it a welcoming spot for diverse diners who want to enjoy a treat without worry.

The drinks menu pairs perfectly with their desserts, from smooth lattes to creative seasonal beverages. I tried a classic cappuccino, which was velvety and well-balanced, and it complemented the fruity desserts perfectly.

The only downside is the pricing. While everything looks and tastes high-quality, the items are noticeably expensive for the portion sizes. A single dessert or drink can feel a bit overpriced, and ordering multiple items adds up quickly. For occasional indulgence, it’s worth it, but it’s not somewhere I’d visit regularly on a budget.

Overall, Layered shines with its fresh and flavorful fruit desserts, rich chocolate offerings, Halal-friendly menu, and relaxing atmosphere. If you don’t mind paying a premium for presentation and ambiance, it’s a delightful spot to satisfy your sweet cravings.

We got the pumpkin cheesecake, the pumpkin dessert, the vanilla creme brulee, and a chocolate pastry. We just didn't really like any of them. Staff was nice, no wait, the inside was nice. We will come back and try the coffee.

It is truly a Gluten Free paradise among cafes in Fairfax but the prices are relative high. -1 star for factoring in price otherwise 5 stars.
