Marumen in Fairfax is definitely worth trying! 🍜
The staff here are very attentive, fast, and super friendly 🙌. I ordered the beef rib ramen and pork ramen — both were delicious. The meat was incredibly tender, flavorful, and served hot, just the way ramen should be 😋🔥.
I also tried a tuna sushi plate and the Japanese pancake with shrimp and squid. The sushi was fresh, and the pancake was crispy on the outside but soft inside — very tasty and enjoyable! 🍣🦑🦐
Overall, great service, delicious food, and a pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended! ✨👍

Always delicious!!
Pretty close to authentic Osaka ramen!
The Shoyu and Shio are my favorite. The pork belly melts in your mouth, the eggs are perfectly marinated and cooked.

Marumen has been my personal favorite Ramen spot over the past 7 years. For me, it is the consistency of the quality of the broth And it’s honestly, the only place where I’m also eating the meat. It is so tender and well seasoned unlike any other place in my opinion. I don’t love the atmosphere, it does feel a little canteen like, but the Ramen does make up for it. My husband loves the fried rice as well. It is also really reasonable for lunch with their daily (even weekends!) lunch specials!

When life calls for a steaming bowl of happiness, Marumen doesn’t just answer — it shows up at your door with noodles.
The tonkatsu was crispy and satisfying, though it played a little shy on flavor until I gave it a generous drizzle of katsu sauce. After that? Let’s just say we became very good friends.
But the real headliner? The miso ramen. Our crew ordered it every which way — pork, chicken, vegetarian — and not a noodle was left behind. Bowls were practically licked clean (classily, of course).
The eel sushi had nice flavor, though it was a bit light on, well… the eel. Tasty, but left me wishing for one more smoky-sweet bite to finish it off.
Bottom line: Marumen is cozy, hearty, and dangerously good at convincing you that “just one bowl” of ramen is a reasonable life choice.

We come here often for lunch. The ramen is good but they also have other Korean dishes which we enjoy. Today we the dolsot bibimbap and the spicy pork lunch special.
The booths are spacious and bright next to big windows. The parking is plentiful.

This is one of those increasingly rare NOVA places that serves good food in good portions with good prices.

The service was polite and attentive, but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The fried dishes tasted like they were cooked in very old oil, leaving an unpleasant aftertaste. To make things worse, I even found a hair in my food. Definitely not the quality I expected.

Update in 2025:
And STILL the best in my book. Theybhave some great lunch specials and good portions too!
LStill the best Ramen in the area in my book. Got the Spicy Miso Ramen with extra chashu. 🔥🔥🔥 Also got the chicken Karrage and the pork buns. But man the flavor of the ramen, the portion the price, it pretty much beats most ramen spots or all of the other fusion spots that try to do ramen.

Thought I was ordering tonkotsu ramen but I ended up getting tonkatsu (pork cutlet) instead. The menu could be better/clearer to avoid confusion. Suffice to say I was disappointed all around, the cutlet wasn’t all that tasty and neither were the sides that it came with. Also ordered a lunch special bowl that contained an assortment of things like chicken karage and sashimi and I wasn’t impressed by that either. Service was on point and the best part of my visit.
