Santini's New York Style Deli - Fairfax

Boy has this place tanked! I've been coming to santini's for years now, this particular store has clearly taken a dive. Looking rather run down.

I arrived Saturday afternoon. They were not busy.Couldn't get anybody to take my order. One of the staff was standing right in front of me, but decided to play with his phone. The staff were looking at each other to figure out who was going to break down and take my order.

Eventually I ordered an eggplant parmesan sandwich. After 20 minutes I started looking to see what happened with it. They clearly had forgotten to actually make the order. When they saw I was looking around they scurried to put an order together. They promptly made the wrong sandwich .(Which i didn't realize until i got home). Ended up with something that's sort of like a ground veal parmesan sandwich. Overdone and bland!

My last two experiences at this store were better, but not by much. Time for this store to close or get new management! No longer recommended.

Place is awesome. Atmosphere and design amazing. So many choices to choose from. I had a slice of pizza and an Italian sandwich all of which were delicious. U also gad the onion rings so good.

Used to love this place but the prices have gotten way too high while the food has not improved. A Santini's calzone contains chunks of garlic. I love garlic but there's a limit. The pizza I recently bought was paper thin, greasy and dry.

Never have i ever - eaten such a perfect slice of cheese pizza. Fresh and Perfect. Will be back again.

The good. We ordered cheese pizza, a Caesar salad, a grilled cheese sandwich , Santini fries and New York sandwich. The Santini fries, grilled cheese and Nee York Sandwich was great. The chicken in the salad was also good. We did not like the pizza.

The bad: The staff! We waited over 15 minutes to finally place our order(We were completely ignored until it was time to order). The line behind us was extremely long while we waited to order. No one acknowledged any of the people waiting in line. After ordering they refused to speak to us in English and when we corrected our order because they had it wrong again, refused to speak to us in English. It was obvious that they were not saying, kind things about us or the people around us in Spanish, even though we couldn’t understand them it was clear they were frustrated with the customers .

Overall: we will not be back. The economy is so tight right now that you have to be selective where you spend your money and the atmosphere as
well as the food is equally important to our family

Very relaxed atmosphere and has a lot of regulars. Very busy around lunch and after work. Parking is easy.
The food is great and the service is top notch. Everyone is super welcoming and on top of things. The steak and cheese, chicken philly, and Casa de Calzone are some favorites.

Wheelchair accessibility: Doorway is not wheelchair friendly if you're solo. But if you have someone to help you with the double doors you'll be okay.

The Santini's team (near Costco in Ffx) did a fabulous job with a big order pretty late in the day. Hungry baseball team. 8 x 12" meatball subs with halves individually wrapped + 6 orders of curly fries. They mobilized and our players were so happy to have a warm & delicious subs for end of game nourishment!! Thank you Santini's team!

Honestly would rather get a Costco pizza for half the price. Pizza is nothing special

Basic clean tables. Large parties can easily find a place to sit together and share great pizza.

I first came here around 10 years ago, recently came back to Fairfax and it’s still as good as I remembered it being, favorite sandwich stop in the area!

I really dislike this location. The 3 of us stood in line for 3 minutes waiting for someone, anyone, to take our order. They weren't busy (2 people in the restaurant no one in line) and I watched at least 3 employees walk around the restaurant, behind the counter and do anything but acknowledge our presence or take our order. We left because they obviously don't want our business.

The pizza sucked the dough was not cooked all the way look at picture. The steak and cheese sub was greater than expected but I didn't see the green peppers I requested. I took it to go . That is why I never went back I was on duty. So for pizza got to Costco big difference 1.99 it is not worth 4.50 for little slice of pizza in this place to pay an arm and a leg. I've had better at the Italian store in Arlington and Tony's New York Pizza in Manassas. So the price is way too high for the quality. There's no parmesan or crushed red peppers on the tables . That was the first ? and yes I have been to New York. This place is a knockoff I'm disappointed. Here's more paying for the image than quality.

I wanted to try something simple so I tried a simple tuna sub sandwich the vegetables tasted like they'd been out for quite awhile,there was no snap to anything everything was limp. The tuna was dry and bland.
