The wine, baguette, service and atmosphere were wonderful but the steak frites were terrible. We've been to The Wine House a number of times and the food has been fine. We both order the steak frites rare an the meat was raw and stringy with a salty brown gravy on top. The gravy was new starting that day. We both had a couple of bites and that was it. Love the vibe here. This restaurant is unique in Fairfax City. Always feels like a special occasion, even when just having a quick meal or apps and drinks. I come here with friends often.
Service and ambiance were excellent as usual. Tried the special - NY strip since I love the steak frites and short ribs. Should have stuck with regular menu items. Steak was very rough and a little overcooked for med rare. Still one of our faves in FFX City.
