Pretty underwhelming. Pastry was cold and pretty hard. Maybe we got a bad batch but I won’t be coming back nor can I recommend it.
This is more like 2.5 stars. I really enjoyed Beard Papa's the first time I tried it while visiting San Francisco and I was so excited to find there was a location close to home. Unfortunately, my experience was just ok here. The original "cream" they filled my pastry with was the consistency of water. It is supposed to be more like pudding. The flavor was ok though so at least we were able to eat it. My husband also got a creme brulee but the lady burnt the sugar and handed us a pastry puff that was blackened on top. It tasted terrible due to the burnt sugar. More training appears to be needed at this location. I am on the fence on whether or not I would give this location a second chance given this experience which is sad since the two locations I tried in San Francisco were consistently fantastic - and I mean rave-about-fantastic when I am not even a cream puff fan. I hope this location can fix their issues. The location is a little out of the way but at least there is ample parking behind the store. The seating area is attractive but all of the table tops were dirty yet the store was not even busy.
First discovered this place on short trip in Los Angeles. They were the best cream pastries I've had in the US. Curious if there were any Beard Papa's stores on the East Coast, I found this location.
I've been to the Houston location which featured many flavors and everytime I'm there, it's delicious. I visited the Leesburg location in Virginia and it was okay, they didn't have the birthday cake as advertised so I got my usual green tea with green tea filling as I do in Houston. The green tea on top of the profiterole was a pale color and didn't taste like matcha at all, it didn't taste like anything but what was worse, the filling was acidic and gross. It didn't taste like green tea, just a weird sour taste. So disappointed. I came with friends raving about this place from my previous experience in Houston but came home embarrassed by how limited the menu was and how poor the flavors were. Will not be coming back.
This place is garbage. Worst cheese cake and coffee.
Empty, disheveled store. Sole employee had locked the doors (presumably for a bathroom break) when I arrived. Coffee was forgettable. Pastries appeared mostly picked over and haphazardly arranged in the display case.
From Connecticut and came to eat at beared papa, signed said 9:30am to 9:30pm, arrived at 7:20pm and told us they were closed. To all those that came from out of state, this place is garbage. You’re better off just going to mango mango!!!
They always seem to be out of most of their cream puffs. ☹
Went there with my daughter's boyfriend and my daughter . He recommend us this place . because he likes the sugar stuff. Im my opinion is a little priced in compare with regular donuts. Not chocolate flavor was available at that time.
The cutest establishment! Will be back for sure!

They know how to make some amazing baked good, no doubt about that. You guys are so getting a 5 star from me. Love coming here and I couldnt be happier with their service
So yummy and KAWAII!
Wasn't that impressed. They're cream puffs- the shells were kind of stale and overall they were ok - nothing special.
I love beginning mornings here. They made such good things that it is to start the day with a smile. But like many other places, they have better days that sometimes they ran out of staff. But when they do have it, it is the best.
Great hole in the wall place for cream puffs. Nice and fresh!
