I've been going to Haandi at least once a week for several years now. They do a great job with everything from matar paneer and saag murgh to baingan bharta and more complicated entrees. It's the only restaurant where everyone in our family has a favorite dish they're thrilled to eat. When we have friends in from out of town, we almost always get Haandi, too, because the food is so reliable--and the takeout portions are enormous. The staff is friendly and knows us by name. It's a pleasure to eat at Haandi.

Garlic Naan was burnt. Tikka Masala also tasted horrible.

Delicious food and drinks! Loved the butter chicken and mango lassi! Perfect for those who can’t tolerate too much spice, as it was very mild and tasty.

Haandi is not just my favorite Indian restaurant, but my favorite restaurant all together. The staff is kind and thoughtful, and the food is spectacular. It's a beautiful interior and all around great dining experience. I've been many, many times, have sampled the full menu and have enjoyed everything I've tried. The curries are packed with flavor with generous portions. I can recommend the Methi Chooza as a personal favorite- it's a decadent and rich curry with a unique spice profile. The Gosht Patiala is a great lamb dish, and their seafood curries are unique and delicious. This is a truly authentic Indian restaurant with great regional specialties. Their appetizers and deserts are also on point. Try the Bhelpuri for a light and refreshing start to your meal and finish with the Gulab Jamon or homemade pistachio ice cream. Haandi is also my go to spot if want to bring together family or a large group for an elegant dinner. I feel very lucky to have such a quality Indian nearby to me and see myself coming for years in the future!

This place is hands down my least favorite Indian food restaurant. The flavor of the food was completely missing. We ordered a platter of appetizers which had samosas, veggie fritters and we subbed tandoori chicken. This was accommodated however the chicken was dry and did not taste or feel freshly roasted. The taste reminded me of a hotdog. The other components also lacked any flavors. We had saag paneer which was also poorly seasoned. The paneer was barely warm, the Dahl makhani had sparse amounts of Dahl. The gravy was quite thin which occurred to me that it has not been simmering for very long or was watered down. Again low level of flavor. The chicken tikka masala chicken was dry. Large chunks however dry and the gravy was also thin. We specifically asked for spicy several times. I wasn't expecting a fire alarm in my mouth however the spice level was probably the range of a green bell pepper. We specifically asked for spicy. T the dishes came garnished with jalapeño pepper slices however as many who prefer a spicier dish knows, jalapeños are not all spicy. These jalapeños were the level of a green bell pepper. I am not exaggerating. We were served a platter of rice however the rice was sticky and not flaky like I've had at any other Indian restaurant I've been to. The servers were all polite. They were diligent to fill my water glass any time I took a sip. This was excessive. In fact, several times I asked for them to stop filling my glass. The noise level was low. They had many tables. For a Thursday evening without a reservation we easily walked in and sat right down. I have to say for the $100 bill for our dinner and we did not have any drinks other than tap water, it was not worth the price. The food lacked flavor or depth and I guess if are NOT looking for an authentic Indian restaurant, this might be your place. It seems that plenty of people go there for take out however I will not be back. The food was absolutely not suitable for my pallet because I was looking for rich, depths of flavor. I do not like to post low reviews however based on what appeared to be promised of Indian cuisine, I'd say that this is not the place to go

We did carry out so I can't really comment on service or atmosphere. What I can say is we have a very good Indian restaurant in our neighborhood but this restaurant 20 minutes away is worth the drive. Every single one of the 5 dishes we shared were superb. Our lamb, chicken and eggplant dishes were all so tasty and the proteins very tender. We also had a spectacular crispy spinach salad to die for.

We decided to branch out from our usual Indian hangouts to try a new restaurant. From the menu we were optimistic, as there were a number of options we do not see on a regular basis, so we were hoping for a new experience.The starter fried cauliflower was unique and pleasant (despite the sauce's similarity to a Chinese sweet and sour), and the mixed naan basket didn't disappoint. Unfortunately, the mains were decidedly mixed. While the ingredients were good and the serving creative, the sauces seemed more like a packaged starch-stabilized gravy than our usual experience and their quantity overwhelmed the dishes (who looks forward to multiple spoonfuls of just bland gravy and rice?). Additionally the four dishes we tried had remarkably similar flavour profiles, which reinforced the first opinion.There are enough innovative and more inspiring locations out there that it will be a fair amount of time before we try this one again.

We've only ever done takeout from Haandi but it's been delicious every time! Their lamb korma is the best I've ever had. Definitely give it a try!

“Never judge a book by its cover”…. Unless there are only pictures and no words, then, yeah, you can judge the book. And, well, anything else also. {Being 5 yrs old was magical, eh?! ?}Falls Church Kids! Never judge a restaurant by its exterior facade! A last minute search for meatless Lenten soup to serve at a church dinner took me into Haandi. The brief chat to begin my order led me to mention to the owner(s) that this was my first occasion in, and that my belief was this restaurant was a chain or franchise, based on, yes, the exterior look blending with others’ of the surrounding retailers. Ooof! ? Wrong bigly!This Haandi is one of just two locations, with this one being present since 1989! The renovations over the whole commercial block deemed necessary well before my family moved nearby. I explained my surprise, and my thinking that, for ethnic foods, best to go “source” rather than “corporate”. [And left promising for sure, The Contessa Julia and I will return! Very, very soon! ???]Oh, to end this TL;DR review? My gallon of veggie mullagatawny soup rocked the evening! **Sundar! Dyanavad!**{Namaste! ?? ??❤️}

Loved the Shrimp Curry which came with 6 huge shrimp and a flavorful yet mild sauce that complemented the shrimp. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Lamb Saag and Bhaighan Bharta. This restaurant has been one of my favorites for 20 years. Thank you for your consistently delicious

Food tasted fresh. But I was disappointed in the spice level, both for flavor and heat my order of murgh makhani was lacking.

I ordered tandoori mixed grill which was good but the chicken biryani was nothing special but my main issue was that they wouldnt let me the rice for naan.As the saying goes:بڑی دوکان پھیکا پکوان۔
