This is my second time trying Honoo and I’m very pleased with the food and service. We tried the yakitori, tacos, mentaiko udon, sushi rolls, and other appetizer dishes - they were all delicious! The interior is also very modern and the ambience is nice. I highly recommend.
Very recently opened so there are a couple of kinks to service they need to work out. Tables were not wiped when we arrived and servers seemed quite overwhelmed. Our server was very kind but obviously flustered. Live music was playing which was nice, but made it hard to hear conversation. It was quite a wait before we got our food which was decent, I ordered the spicy ramen and my friend got a katsu soba dish. Parking was available at a nearby garage and we paid $5 for 1 hour...
Delicious and fresh sushi! Chirashi is a little more expensive than others in the area ($37 vs $30) but you get more fish (15 vs ~11). My fiancé got the wagyu aburasoba which was very good as well. The waitress explained the nuances of the different Japanese dishes to us to help us decide on our order. Definitely going back
