This is a wonderful restaurant. The food is delicious, attractive and healthy. The staff is warm and attentive. The Afghan decor is charming. The gluten-free and dairy-free dishes are great.
Panjshir is one of our favorite restaurants. For years, we used to regularly go to their Vienna location but after it closed and we moved further out, it was a challenge to go to the Falls Church restaurant. With that said, we have missed their delicious food so we decided to brave the traffic and go. Even after all these years we were not disappointed. The quality and consistency of the food is exactly the same. I'm a vegetarian and their vegetarian offerings from kadu chalow...
Wonderful food, wonderful people. We first dined here over 30 years ago and it is still our favorite for Afghan cuisine. We'd happily make a meal on the appetizers, which are so good that we find it difficult to save room for the entrees. The marinades they use on meats are mild, subtle, and help to ensure a moist result, even for their chicken breast kabob, which may be the best I've ever had. The nicest part is being recognized, welcomed, and treated like friends....
