My family has been going to this restaurant for over 30 years. First time a host started raising their voice about the cost about a cup of tea! A simple question to clarify something on the bill led to the host following my aunt back to the table telling her she must have only eaten at their restaurant in the afternoons and not the evenings and we must not be aware of the evening costs. The bill was over $300 and our bill is typically over $300 due to the amount of food ordered but it was a simple question about tea that bothered us. $18 for 3 pots of tea. Turns out the host yelling said it was $2.00 a cup! 5 adults and 2 children. That’s 7 cups! 2 x 7= 14….even if it was a mistake and it’s $3 a cup, 3x 7= 21! Lesson: tell the waiter to take the tea cups from the table. Don’t get charged for the tea cups! So sad that generations of our family going to this restaurant was ruined by poor math, poor customer service from the host, and poor attempts to resolve and respond to a question about tea.

The signature Peking duck was the only decent dish, but even the pancakes used for wrapping the meat were way too thick. The rest of the food was disappointing, and the servers were quite rude.

We had a large family dinner at Peking Gourmet Inn and generally enjoyed the experience, particularly the hand-pulled noodles with seafood and the Peking Duck. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. However, the lazy Susan on our table was worn out and difficult to turn, which made sharing dishes a bit of a challenge.

The orange chicken was tasty with a great texture. Service was excellent and portions were large. I would eat here again. Bbq pork fired rice is also a winner along with the walnut chicken.

We have visited this restaurant several times. During our most recent visit, we had a very unpleasant experience.
We were seated at a table with other customers on both our left and right sides. The owner of the restaurant — the man who appears in many of the photos at the entrance — came over and spoke with the guests at the table to our left for several minutes. Before leaving, he offered them a complimentary dessert. He then skipped our table entirely and went to speak with the guests on our right for several minutes, and he also offered them a complimentary dessert.
Both of those tables were occupied by white customers, while we are not. It felt discriminatory and extremely upsetting. What makes it even more ironic is that the owner himself is not white.
It was a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience. The boss is really disgusting and cheap.

Peking Gourmet Inn changed management (i.e., new owners) several years ago, and it is no longer the same restaurant.

Not only has the price of the duck skyrocketed by over $30, the quality of the food has noticeably diminished to the extent that I discourage anyone from wasting their money at that joint. The new owners should be required to change the name of the restaurant because it's no longer the same as it was under the original owner. If you don't believe me, read the recent reviews on Google Maps by people who ate at the restaurant before it changed hands. People who recently claim that the food is good either never ate at the restaurant before it changed hands or are fake reviewers. In either case, the person posting clearly doesn't know how quality Chinese food tastes.

Always a great time with friends here, especially if you can get the big table in the second room for some privacy.

Once upon a time you came here for a good meal at a reasonable price. You arrived and the walls, adorn with portraits of politicians and Hollywood elites, welcomed you into the hallowed main dinning room. They elevated the atmosphere, but the overall retro feel balanced the scale, good food, fair price, strip mall, next to a convenience store or two selling malt liquor and 40ozs.

Fast forward to today. $18 cocktails, $80 duck, $49 Leek Spouts with Shrimp. The portraits have yellowed with age, the staff is still very helpful, but balance it once had is off kilter now. It's still next to a convenience store, in a strip mall, is fine overall food, but the prices are higher than downtown DC. In my opinion, the prices are just too high for the level of food.

You can tell by the ambiance that you've stepped into a place that had served famous people. There is an old time classic Chinese restaurant vibe here.
The ambiance is gorgeous, the decor is history, with pictures of patrons from wall to wall.

The servers and staff are professionally dressed, I felt underdressed

Walked into the place around 2:50pm, as i read through the menu, and decide on the lunch special, the waiter says, sorry but it's after 3pm (3:02pm) no more lunch special. Bummed, as now the prices from lunch to dinner are a 3-4 dollar amount difference, portion might be larger, but for one person, I didn't need more of just one dish, I wanted variety.

Everything was just basic, and the fried calamari's funnel cake like batter was quite sweet and greasy for me.

The wonton soup had a thick wrapper, well stuffed, not bad

Fried Rice was delicious, loaded with meat and shrimp, worth the value

Will go back to try the famous Duck when I have enough people to share it with, as it is at least $100 for the table service.

Everyone was so kind and attentive. The Peking Duck is amazing and they carve it, roll the pancakes, and service it to you right there at the table. 10 stars!
