Effingham used to be one if my favorite restaurants in town. The chicken and waffles were the stuff of legend. But it's changed and not a good way. They charge top tier prices for mid food at best. Exs: their salmon and grits taste like came from an instant packet, just add hot water ($26). Their chicken and waffles are served with packets of Smuckers Breakfast Syrup, made with high fructose corn syrup and no actual maple ($28). While I appreciate the appearance and attempt at making it classy the service and skill did not match! It is not bad food, but definitely not for the price!
