The folks seem very kind but the food seemed a bit over priced for what we got. It is a good place for a gathering with friends.

We were downtown Fredericksburg on a Saturday afternoon and stopped in for an appetizer and drink. There may have been 10/12 customers total. We sat at one of the side walk tables to enjoy the weather. We had the pretzel, sausage, & cheese appetizer and cocktails. Our food and service was good.

I LOVE Capital Ale House! I have been coming here for years. I live an hour away and dream of the perogies. I was so happy to see they have a variety now and a sampler to try them all. I was in heaven with that and my wine that the bartender was heavy handed on! The ale house burger and fries were delicious with the spicy ketchup. Our table then decided to share the brownie rockslide dessert. We were STUFFED. Got a couple extra drinks and ended the night throwing some darts! Great night! I am not sure what our waitresses name was, but she was wonderful!

Came here with some friends for a quick beer before a local concert. Nice place. At one point I remember an ice rail on the bar to keep drinks cold. It’s no longer there, but still enjoyed the experience.

Extensive drink menu, so many options on tap. The food was good — nothing to complain about, though I wouldn’t say it stood out. Overall, enjoyable visit.

So I left a bad review last time but have come back to see if it was a fluke / bad timing, etc. and it was. Our server Samantha was the best server I’ve ever had, she made the meal a memorable experience with her humor and left a wonderful impression on us all. We really enjoyed her presence. On the food, I got two meals, one stroganoff & one ny strip. Do not get the stroganoff, dog food. The NY strip was delicious & cooked perfectly, and the sides were exceptional, especially the fries. My brothers said there meals were delicious, they talked me into coming back and they were right. It wasn’t bad at all. All of this food came out to $109, not bad for 4 meals and one alcoholic beverage (not for myself, I don’t drink) … anywho, ask for Samantha. If she’s not there then just come back another time, she is the real reason why they can get 5 stars !

Not sure why the bar had so few folks helping, but today they had one bartender waiting on lots of people. It took forever for them to hear our order, and then another forever to get it and after we wrapped up, one more forever to get the check and pay. For just appetizers and a beer, we were in there for 1.5 hours. On the plus side the food was good.
