Hunan Garden is a restaurant known for its delicious food and pleasant atmosphere. The interior is pretty, with slow jazz music playing in the background, creating a relaxing environment. The restaurant offers large portions and a homely feel, making it an ideal place for romantic dates or some quiet time alone. During a visit on a Thursday afternoon, the service was good, with friendly staff and quick food delivery. The steamed pork dumplings are a popular appetizer, and the crab Rangoon is considered the best around. The pork fried dumplings are unique, like jumbo dumplings cut in half and quite awesome. The shrimp tempura is excellent, though a bit pricey at $2.25 each. The sweet and sour shrimp and Kung Pao Three Delight are average but still delicious. The food is generally enjoyed, and leftovers can be taken home for lunch. Delivery from the restaurant is reliable, with a quick 35-minute turnaround from the estimated 45 minutes, and everything arrives hot, even in cold weather. The delivery person is super pleasant, adding to the positive service experience. Overall, the tasty food and cozy ambiance make Hunan Garden a place worth visiting again. Recent reviews show that dishes like chicken chow mein, spicy crispy chicken, and pork and broccoli are fresh and good, even if some have concerns about food "to go." Customers appreciate the large portions, reasonable pricing, and prompt service. Many find the food to be consistently satisfying, with some noting that the fried items stay crispy and taste great. The restaurant offers a variety of lunch specials, and delivery is quick, making it a convenient choice for office lunches. The overall experience remains positive, and Hunan Garden continues to be a favorite for delicious Chinese food and friendly service.
