My review on my first time eating Captain D's restaurantI got the Fish and Fries combo with 2 just puppies to go. The fries, I rate them a 3.4/5.0. It taste like Burger King fries. They were a little hard. If there was a little bit more salt added to the recipe, it would taste better. But overall, they were good. ?? The hush puppies, I rate them a 2.8/5.0. They weren't the best but they taste ok. They smelled like rice which is my least favorite food. If there was a little less seasoning to the hush puppies, they may taste better. Overall, like I said, they were ok.Last but not least, the fish. I rate this fish a 4.7/5.0 It taste delicious. This is probably the crispiest fish I've ever eaten!? At first, in smelled like chicken. ? Crispy skin and great fish inside. Overally, the fish was incredible.????I rate this meal a 3.9/5.0, about a 4/5 stars. Like I said, maybe just a little bit less seasoning on the hush puppies and a little more salt on the fries. This meal was a good dinner.??-Shane

Food was hot and flavorful. The restaurant was clean. This place was running like a well oiled machine. Thomas our cashier was absolutely incredible. He was knowledgeable and attentive and really helpful. Even though they were busy Thomas made us feel like the only ones in the building. I'd return just for Thomas.

The food was surprisingly good. I’ve never been to one, but it exceeded my expectations. One thing I do admire is the staff. The staff here was 10/10. They deserve raises all around or appreciation because they went above and beyond. Not only did they provide excellent service.. They actively cleaned and the establishment atmosphere was very friendly. I would definitely come back and order different things

At the Princess Anne Street location in Fredericksburg.Markita (I’m sorry if I spelled her name wrong) is just a lovely person altogether. From what I could see, she was the only person working at the counter and dining room during the lunch rush. She deserves a raise, and even a promotion or some sort of recognition. People like her bring customers back to the establishment, because even through the chaos she still treated everyone in the restaurant with kindness and made personal connections with us along the way. I’m not the only person who noticed this, either; I could hear other customers as they talk about her service. I know how horrible customers can be sometimes but she doesn’t let that get in the way of her work. She’s clearly a hard worker who walks with patience and love, and she should be proud. She needs to know she’s not only valued as a service worker but as a person. I have never had a server as great as her. Seriously, give her a giant raise.

My family and I are repeat customers at this establishment; usually, for dinner. Over time, the service and the food quality as been subpar. Most recently, my husband and son ordered dinner for the family (to go/drive-thru) and my husband recognized the order was incorrect. Want to know how the order taker responded? He rudely retorted with "No it's not"! My husband didn't take up additional time to debate with him as other customers were waiting in line for their orders. I called back to the restaurant to complain to the manager and he was equally unconcerned. To top it off...the salmon sucked! It was dry and tasteless. My dog liked it for her dinner. We're done! Not ever going back. I'm so tired of hospitality/food service businesses provividing either poor customer service and/or no customer service.
