We went there a while ago, about two years ago but I thought I’d share. Carl’s offers a delicious custard. Very creamy and sweet. My son did not like his milkshake but me and my daughter loved our ice-cream. I am lactose intolerant, but the custard was definitely worth it. I think you can tell though by the look on her face! Would definitely recommend. They are cash only though!

One of my favorite places in Fredericksburg. I’ve lived here my whole life, and when I was younger and lived a block away, me and my father would walk there every Saturday, and I’d get myself a chocolate shake. I always keep cash in my car just in case I get a craving. Never disappoints!

Parking: Decent parking spots wrapped around the building. You can park on either street around the corner and in front!

First this is CASH ONLY. I did not see this noted on their home page or menu page on their site. Luckily I had cash on me this particular time. I was going to order a sundae with chocolate custard but the sign states they are only made with vanilla. I don’t understand why. It’s impossible to see this on their site as well. I ended up just getting a chocolate cone. I was expecting a creamy chocolate flavor but it was more of an artificial chocolate flavor. I prefer the taste...
