I went there for breakfast on the 7th of March, 2024 and asked for two eggs over easy, bacon, and some of their home fries and grits. I have to say, never in my 68 years on this planet has anyone been successful in screwing up two eggs over easy but they managed to do it at the Lafayette Diner. Those eggs were not even cooked, they were RAW! In fact, I am not certain how the cook even got the eggs from the grille to the plate. Over 20 years in the Marine Corps, over 11 engagements on three different continents, I once saw two monkeys trying to screw a football but I have never seen raw eggs on a plate; not until the Lafayette Diner. I bet they never got that egg up to the 50 degrees. AND! The short round young lady that served me, and the middle aged large frumpy large lady that seemed to be in charge-neither of them seemed to have a problem with me having raw eggs served to me; but-they sure were eager to take my money and, what? You not going to leave a tip? I will never darken their threshold again! I rate this place (only because they asked me to in this communique) zero stars out of five but they will not go that far down with the star rating.

Loved everything about this place! The staff were great and the food was fantastic! Seeing all the folks hanging out, talking and eating was a welcome change from the local norm of just minding your business, eating and leaving.

It was the first time there for my wife and I. We will be making regular visits from now on. We had breakfast and the food was great. It has a nice friendly comfortable atmosphere and our waitress was warm, friendly and efficient.
Great homey atmosphere, great food at great prices. Kid friendly. Will be back for more!

Went here for a birthday breakfast. Never been here before but felt like family. The food is the best I've ever had in any diner (& I'm old so I've been to many LOL). The bacon was so crisp & the home fries were made to perfection. When I went to pay, I was told somebody picked up our tab & said happy birthday. I was shocked. She said it happens often there. If I lived closer, I'd go there at least once a week.I'm looking forward to going back.

Coffee never refilled… one small cup.Ordered sausage gravy with biscuits… bland. French toast… good. Home fries… lots of pepper!Waitress greeted us, took our order, delivered food, took our plates, and told us when we were ready, go to register. Paid the bill.. never saw the bill. Assumed it was correct… no clue.Never checked or offered refills.They weren’t that busy.Too many other local places with better customer service. Get better!
