Stopped in on Valentine’s day night while waiting for an event, the atmosphere was nice and it was too loud. The chicken skewer was way better than I was expecting it to be and the blonde bartender (i didn’t manage to catch her name) made an amazing drink! I will definitely be returning and stay longer.

Went here for breakfast because my hotel did not have enough staff to manage the crowd. I'm so glad! The atmosphere was lovely, a former bank. The waiter was super friendly and accommodating. I ordered the egg biscuit , espresso and orange juice. Absolutely delicious. Fresh squeezed juice, excellent coffee, and the biscuit melted in your mouth. The eggs were flavored nicely. I'd definitely return.

Everything biscuit was Everything!! chicken wings and chicken sandwich was so tasty and well season. perfect crispness. Everyone enjoyed their meals and left full and satisfied. Fresh ingredients and nice options for diners with varied pallets.😋

First time here and most likely will never come back. My boyfriend and I live in downtown, fxbg and have been to almost every restaurant downtown. I’m not sure of our waitresses name, but she was a middle aged black woman with braids. If we ever do come back here, we’ll respectfully ask to have someone else in the event she’s our server again. From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed. Once we got our food, she never ensured all was well. I understand being busy, but quickly checking on a table and asking if everything is okay is the least she could’ve done. I’m HUGE on customer service and this was a major let down. In addition to not checking on us whatsoever, after it appeared that we were done with our food, she just brought us our check — didn’t ask if we were done, if we wanted anything else, and still didn’t ask whether everything was good. I had to request a box without being asked if I wanted one (my shrimp and grits bowl was clearly half full), and the last time we saw her was when she brought the check. I could understand this type of service had we been rude people from the jump; however, we weren’t at all. I’m so disappointed. Nonetheless, we still tipped her 20% which was way more than she deserved. We would’ve been wrong if we hadn’t tipped her though….. If I were Mercantile, I’d be mortified to have her represent my business. I mean, honestly top 3 worst experiences we’ve had. I could go into more detail, but not worth my time.

Undoubtedly, “the BEST” Shrimp 🦐 and Grits in the entire DMV (D.C.; Maryland; Virginia) and I’m a GRiT-oLOGiST👩🏼🎓. Also, the Chocolate Chip Cookies 🍪 are so delightful. Everything is worthy. But, don’t take my word for it; Go experience this Gem for yourselves.
