Tom was so kind to help me pick out items for a wedding gift, and wrap them for me. There are so many beautiful items in the shop, including specialty items that can be hard to find. While I was there, I saw they had a cooking class going on too, that's very cool, it would be a great holiday gift.

The Kitchen at Whittingham is located in Historic Downtown Fredericksburg, but there are actually two stores in this location....they are located side by side one focused on kitchen stuff while the other one is focused on home decor. Whittingham offers a broad selection of items for home décor, from the elegant to the whimsical. The Kitchen at Whittingham offers 3,500 square foot of everything you need for your kitchen. The latter offers cooking classes several times a month, most of them in the $65-95 range where anyone can learn about Asia, Italian, French, dessert or any other culinary skill. A great place to stop for a gift to give someone or for a nice "something" for your own home or kitchen.Lovely and cute.

I have never been met with anything but a warm reception at Whittingham's. The decor side has a lovely selection of unique items. Think a Southern Gentleman's store with higher end items than you might find at Pottery Barn or William Sonoma. The kitchen side is equipped from everyday wooden spoons to chef's knives and aprons. Anyone living in F'burg knows Mr. Whittingham as a refined, soft spoken gentleman with an exquisite style. My husband thinks he's a hoot! Prices range from average to over the top but just walking through the store is a fun adventure. Don't miss it and don't be afraid to give the staff a warm smile and greeting if you don't get one first! They will reciprocate!

One of our favorite shops downtown. We always find the right gift. We check in every two weeks since turnover is fast.

Although I still am working on improving my culinary skills, this shop on Caroline Street in Fredericksburg appears to have almost everything almost any cook or baker would need. Previously, I’ve bought Nordic brand baking pans here, and again I saw them here today. It’s wonderful that such a wide assortment of kitchen utensils are available here. I highly recommend visiting this store!

Whittingham is a Fredericksburg institution. The proprietor is the kind of shop-keeper who tries to bridge the gap between Macy's and the 'Little Shop on the Corner'. He has a wonderful selection of inventory in two connected stores: one for kitchen items, the other for home and personal gift items. Everything is very reasonably priced. Furthermore, Mr. Whittingham puts up seasonal window displays just like you remember from long ago. His store anchors one end of Caroline Street (Main Street) Fredericksburg. Every town needs a store and a gentleman proprietor like Whittingham (Bob Whittingham). He just may keep store front shopping alive, and slay the internet. I for one am betting he does.
