It was ok. I heard so many great things about this place. I was really excited to try it. The prices on the menu are high, but everyone said it was good. I didn't mind paying a higher price for quality. Unfortunately, it was just ok. I definitely won't be making a trip back. The service was good. Our waiter was very friendly and checked in on us frequently. The atmosphere was nice and clean also. I came in thinking this was a traditional steakhouse, but it's pretty much a Mexican restaurant. And at those prices, it should have been so much more.
There's street front parking and a gravel lot on the side. You get views of the river from the top floor, but no views of the dam unless you sit outside.

We were greeted nicely. There was only 1 table of 8 when we got there. The server was polite. My wife waited over 10min for a side of cheese sauce for her meal. I had to go downstairs to get it. Didnt get drink refills while eating. Food was good

We had our office Christmas meal at the restaurant in a reserved area. The restaurant was busy but our area was quiet and we could talk with each other easily. We had a waitress dedicated to our group of 14 and she did a great job getting our drinks, taking our orders and keeping our drinks filled. Our food was ready pretty quickly, too. The menu offers salads, steaks, a couple of types of burgers plus a variety of Mexican dishes. We were provided individual bowls of salsa along with tortilla chips when we were seated. The steaks looked very good, the salads looked fresh and delicious. I got jumbo shrimp which came with a scampi-style buttery, garlicky sauce. The meal also included rice pilaf which was delicious and sautéed vegetables that were cooked well but still retained their structure and were not soggy. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. A couple of people got the bourbon-glazed salmon and said it was delicious, too. Overall, it was a nice experience dining there. I will go back.

Great food, atmosphere. I got a ribeye and my wife got a mushroom hamburger and she let me taste it and it was by far the best tasting, unique hamburger I have ever had, really and I'm old😁 Never had mac and cheese like that before not the normal m&c. The town of Fries has a very unique history sitting right on the New River. A must visit at least one time before you can't!

Great meal. Ordered then NY Strip medium-rare and it was cooked perfectly and was very tender. Service was on point as well. Kind of wish I had tried it out sooner. I will definitely be going back.

The steak was amazing, perfectly cooked and very flavorful, I will post a picture below. We sat upstairs and the atmosphere was great. We were there at lunch on a Friday afternoon and there were only 2 other tables with people dining. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars for service was because the waitress seemed to be agitated and not super attentive. I just expected a little more if I am paying $50 for lunch. I would definitely return, we traveled from North Carolina to dine here.
