While waiting on my drive-thru order parked past the yellow post a usually tolerable, dark complected female employee thought it best to sneak up to my window and scream into the cab of my truck. It was a shrill and inaudible shriek! I jumped, and murmured in anger! Looking back on the incident the only thing I might have done to warrant such behavior, was speak loudly into the drive-thru speaker. I drive a loud truck, and past employees have had a hard time hearing my order. Unfortunately those will be my last Galax Wendy's chicken nuggies!

Why do you have the option to order through an app if you’re not going to put in the order and have it ready when I arrive?
I recently placed an order through the app (15 minutes in advance), but when I got there expecting to receive it and go straight home, I was told that I would have to wait (20-25 minutes was my wait time) for my order to be made. When questioned about it I was told that they don’t make any orders until the person arrives to pick it up. It’s then typed into the system and made. WHAT? If that’s the case, why would anyone bother to place an order in advance, when you’re going to have to wait as if you walked in and placed the order.
You wonder why people don’t eat here as much as they use too! Needless to say, it’ll probably be my last time eating here.

Every time I’ve been through the drive thru, the soda tastes like pure seltzer. The food is old. Sometimes the fries are so hard that you can’t even bite into them. Seriously, not even just super crunchy fries. I’m talking like they’ve been fossilized in stone like a prehistoric lizard. And if they don’t forget my ranch, it’s still warm and sour. It’s supposed to be in a cooler, right? It is everywhere else. The Wendy’s in Hillsville is a million times better, and has never done me wrong. I’ve visited the Galax location again recently a few times after not visiting it for a couple years, just to give it another chance, and it hasn’t changed. Still garbage.

If you eat here, do not get your drinks here. Get your food and go get a drink somewhere else. They have the syrup level on their soda fountain turned down, so the drinks are awful. Service is friendly enough, but order accuracy is below average for the area. Always make sure you check your bag for sauces and straws, because they frequently forget them. Product quality is generally okay, assuming you get what you ordered. Speed of service is terrible. I believe they're competing with Hardee's for the slowest in the Twin County area. Do not come here in a hurry. 3 cars is at least a ten minute wait.

My daughter has Celiacs and they were wonderful making sure that she had Safe food to eat. They cleaned the surfaces and applied new gloves and put her down fresh burgers on the grill just in case of cross contamination. They bagged her food (burger patties with cheese and a baked potato) separately. They were very kind and thorough! Definitely recommend if you have a gluten allergy! They got all of our orders right and we had a group of 5. The sweet tea was on point! Alll good things!

Terrible customer service!!! I forgot to grab my order after I paid for it (they have the bad habit of grabbing your card, and hand you only the drink, while the meal takes like 3 minutes to come out), and they gave me my card back and a drink and I continued driving. It was not even 5 minutes and I drove back to grab the order I had left behind. 1) They did not gave me my order. 2) The manager Laura/Lauren or whatever her name is looked at me as if I was lying, and even after I showed her my receipt she did not even offer to return my money back. If she had doubts she could've easily look at the cameras! But she only said come tomorrow. No apologies, no offer to change my order for something else, or return my money; NOTHING. This woman was super rude (I am talking about the manager) and disrespectful.

When you search through DoorDash, or through Google search… it shows on both that this establishment is open until midnight. It would not take our order on DoorDash, so we thought it might be something wrong in the app. We drove to the Wendy’s here (in Galax, VA 24333), only to be told through a closed window in drive thru that they were closed (around 11pm-11:30pm). I ask for the name of the manager that would not open the window in the drive thru that was mouthing to us they were closed, but he refuses to do anything. If this Restaurant closes sooner than midnight in the drive thru, then it needs to be fixed through all apps and search engines. Thanks though for a wasted trip, and a rude manager… even through a closed window. This town, DoorDash, and these Restaurants are getting ridiculous.
….at least going off of what every app and search result gives for the hours of operation.
