Sandano's Italian Sub Shop

I tried to walk in and order a sandwich and there was nobody working the counter and a man in the kitchen told me it would be a long wait. They have signs that say counter service is limited. I guess I’ll take my business elsewhere.

By far the best sandwich shop in the RVA area!

They have the best steak and cheese in my opinion, I go weekly it’s addictive!

Only one person working, & he’s handling it ALL, including online orders! For doing it all he had excellent customer service, but if you’re not a patient person or you’re on a time crunch I’d recommend calling ahead. I got the 8 inch Philly & it was on par with some I’ve had in Philadelphia!

OMG! Our daughter purchased a gift certificate for us, and we traveled from southside VA to check it out. Loved the fact that we were able to eat outside on their pleasant, private patio with our little dog. Add to that the sweet,polite young lady who served us and the best pizza steaks we have ever had in the Richmond area! In fact, my 8 inch was so loaded with meat that I shared it with my maltipoo! We will definitely make the trip back to Sandano's many more times!

I grew up in the Notheast NJ & NY, and lived in Chicago . I have been in places where competition for subs was intense. That competition resulted on high quality sub shops. Sandano's is absolutely as good, if not better, than any sub shop I have seen. The ingredients are top notch, the subs are stuffed full of meat, the taste is authentic and fantastic, and the owner puts his heart into the preparation. It is the ideal sub shop and a great value for what you get. I give it my highest recommendation.

Family owned, old-timey feel sub shop. Friendly service, but tough parking with limited spots in front, but some quick walk alternatives are available as it is located in a large shopping plaza. The Philly and the chicken cheesesteaks are BIG!
