The food was not as advertised. The drink choice is pretty much soda or nasty lemonade or tea. Even the waitress admitted it was nasty. No hot chocolate or nothing besides soda. Plates not very clean and waitress reached over my plate of food I was eating to clear others at the table plates. It was weird and definitely did not want another person's deodorant over my food. It was nice because of the nice older folks around enjoying their new year's. I can definitely see why they are closing, a struggle restaurant at best. I'm leaving here and going to waffle house....that should speak volumes
Had the breakfast buffet.Large selection of fresh items.Very good and well taken of by the staff. Service was good.Worth of a stop
Its been a long time since I have been in a Shoneys. Stopped in with friends. They had a sea food buffet so we all got that and to be honest it was pretty dang good. There weren't alot of people inside but the food on the bar was fresh and tasted great. The girls got the hot fudge cakes for desert and said they were just like they remembered from years ago. Super friendly staff. We'll be going back for sure.
I gave a 3 because they advertise more of there schedule our family went there Saturday about 15 of us maybe more only to find out Fri and sat only serves seafood. We had about 4-5 ppl that's allergic to seafood. For someone coming from out of town especially because restaurant close to 64 or 95 it's a good spot but no way of knowing until you get there. Need more advertising .
First time ever visiting a Shoneys and I was not disappointed. Reasonable pricing and delicious food. Quiet. Our server was hard of hearing but an absolute Angel!
The buffet was so delicious. We stopped off here for a quick bite on the way south. We haven’t been to a Shoney’s in a very long time so it was a pleasant surprise to find one along our way.
Before they close January 2023 I want to get my fill of Shoney's buffet. My favorite thing to do is mix my eggs grits, bacon and cheese the entree ?? everything else is a side. Shoney's was the place to go for gatherings with family and friends. All you had to do was get dressed jumping the car meet up and eat, and laugh. Good memories from Shoney's and sorry to see them go. Staff didn't know why. When I noticed that the Broad Street location was closed someone else told me that they were all closed but I found out Glen Allen was still open. So I will go a couple of more times before January I remember one Saturday about 8 family members got together and had a final meal actually breakfast at Shoney's before we all started off on flights to 4 different destinations. Very unique day, and Shoney's was there. Lol
Great food and customer service. Clean and pleasant place to eat for family buffet or menu items.
Honestly the only thing good about this place was our server. My roommate and myself stopped here after a long drive wanting breakfast and all we both got was food poisoning. I was sick as hell for the rest of the trip and for 2 days after as was my roommate. Worse place ever . Service was fantastic though
Hit the breakfast bar aggressively before a wine tour. Good food and the warm service staff are the same as it was 50 years ago at any Shoney's in America. Great start to an August wine tour in Virginia

This place is clean and reminds me of the very 1st Shoney's I ever knew. Good was excellent, as I've always known it to be (hash browns were burnt). I think they should add chicken, turkey, beef, or something besides chicken nuggets for non-pork eating folks. No complaints. If I'm ever there again, I will stop by. It was great!
Sorry, no photos. This is my 1st time here. The eggs are great. The bacon, salad, sweets were worth the fee, Cost of 8$.for buffet. I've eaten at a lot of places, as c u see. I spend ,20 to 50 for a meal including tip fee. So give Shoney's a try. $18 max.Hat
I had a GD time because of the company I was with, but the buffet left a bunch to be desired. Some of the hot food was cold, the biscuits were dry, French toast sticks were a bit overcooked, and I really was disappointed in the Corned Beef Hash, like it was put in the microwave, to say the least. Will Not go back to that Shoneys, for a while, if Ever.
First time in a long time eating here and it was very disappointing. Food on bar was either dry , had been too long on the bar or cold , some food had a funny taste to it. Table was sticky and we were told it was the disinfect they used. it smelled terrible and even the napkins in the dispenser smelled like it. Truly disappointing. I will stick to the shoneys on Broad street. Way , way better.
It's a little hard to see from the road, but it is worth the effort. Mike, the owner is a really nice guy with a great staff. We arrived early afternoon as we were driving through the area. My husband had the breakfast buffet and I had an omelet. He was very satisfied as was I. The next time we are in the Richmond area, we will return. Maybe we can get there when they have their seafood buffet up!
