The Barking Dog is a neat little spot on the water. The hot dog selection is full of variety and a decent size. Their fires are crunchy and delicious. We also got popcorn shrimp the coating had a hush puppy taste, it was different and good! I would recommend them if you’re craving a hotdog.

Support your local hot dog joint. Yes that is the correct door even though it looks like it leads to the kitchen. Natural casing dogs. Great view of the water but whatever you do don't throw rocks.

Very much a hole in the wall, mom and pop type place. And as expected, really great food. Had the El Diablo dog and potato salad. The hotdog was fantastic with the jalapeño cream cheese. The right amount of spice with flavor. The potato salad was right up there with the flavor and texture. Will go again.

My Wife and I stopped byThe Barking Dog yesterday, Friday October 21, 2022. It was 12:15 PM and I figured the place would be packed. That was not the case, with only three people in there, one of which, was ordering takeout. My Wife and I sat down at a table. The waitress, who we has seen there before, passed by our table 4 times. Never once did she ask us if we wanted to see a menu. Ask several minutes, my Wife asked me if I thought we’d get waited sometime today. We saw the waitress just talking to the kitchen help, but never once, acknowledging that we were even there. After a few minutes of indifference to our even being there, we left. We’ve eaten there before, but our past experience was nothing like this. No more Barking Dog for us. I’ll spend my money where I’m appreciated.

I guess this is how you get served and treated when you go just prior to closing. Seeing as though I wouldn’t be able to call and/or take it back. Burnt on the outside, half cooked on the inside, bread smooshed, very sloppily put together and they put the whole pickle(not sliced sandwich pickles) on my burger. Something told me to take it back as soon as I opened the box in the car, but I figured maybe it’ll taste better than it looked. Very disappointed.

This place is a hidden gem! It's simple in the best way. Food is great (have the shrimp po boy, you won't regret it!), service is friendly, and they even give you a koozie for your beer! We live in Richmond but will be coming back every time we're in town!

This spot is great when it’s nice weather, you feel outside but you’re inside. I enjoyed this place because the concept screams “keep it simple, stupid”. Cheap beers, in cans, and they even give you a koozie! Food was great, can’t wait to come back and try something else!

I Order fish and chips never ever got catfish with fish and chips it was either Cod or halibut I can't eat catfish never have and the order wasn't even done the fish was raw I complain said I wanted something different and she told me that she could not comp it and I would have to pay for it. Absolutely rude. She told me I should have should ask if it was catfish. And I would I have to pay for it she wouldn't even replace it and I said I'm not paying for it and she said well you can leave and never come back. Never ever go there unless you want to get treated like that having to buy something that's not cooked you're you can't eat they won't listen to you you want to get something different they won't let you get something different you have to pay for something you didn't want if you don't like it you have to leave you make your choice. Stay away
