My husband and I stopped in for lunch and had a great experience! Service was fast and friendly. They had upbeat music playing and the decor was soo cute! They had a large lunch menu offered EVERYDAY! The chorizo queso dip was some of the best I’ve had! It was decent price good food! We will def be back when we are in the area!

Coming from the Southwest border a stone’s throw from Mexico, it has been a serious challenge to find authentic Mexican food in NOVA. El Vaquero West had some of the best food we’ve tried. The chips and salsa were great, and the fajitas, beans, rice, and tortillas were delicious too. I’m getting used to odd vegetables like broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower in the veggie fajitas, which you never would’ve seen in California. The flavor was tasty and the portions were large. Their prices are great too.

Great lunch specials with huge servings. $11 goes a long way here.

Kitschy, warm decor and a cinco de mayo vibe make me wanna’ be here every weekend! Staff is super friendly and warm. The food is plentiful and cheap. $11 for a scallop enchilada smothered in cheese and beans and rice on the side. I’m not a beer girl usually but the Modelo on draft here tastes better and colder and can’t explain it ….may be their huge frosty mugs or the fresh chips and salsa. Buts it is crave worthy on a tgif! We’ve been a few times before writing this review and the food is consistent, it’s always nicely crowded in a way that you’d wanna be there. Keep it up !

Want poor service, a server that won't check back, a server that doesn't know how to communicate...well my friends you're at the right place. I split a meal with my darling and the extra plate was very cold which transfered to the Enchilada, and wallah-cold food in a jiffy. And again the server is awol from our table. Waited patiently for a check...waited some more. Bottom line No hospitality, mediocre food, nuf said. I'd try anyone else first.

I would have rather eaten a plate of potato chips than eat the dish I ordered. Guacamole tasted like water and beans were extremely bland. The best thing I had was the free salsa and chips.

If you're looking for decent Mexican food, this is the place! If you're looking for good Alcohol drinks, definitely come here. I came here with my family during the busiest day in Haymarket on any given year.... Haymarket Day, the street was not only blocked off but with plenty of vendors and plenty of other food however, we decided to swing in here and give them a try.If you're not a local, you definitely didn't have a clue what was going on. Nevertheless the staff did a great job explaining what were the differences in the margaritas and in certain food choices as well even when they were busy and stressed. I would definitely come back here and definitely just have a another drink and their food. I had the taco salad as well and man was it really good. Definitely recommend them to anyone stopping by the Haymarket area.
