First time here and both my wife and I had the sushi lunch special and gyoza (and did not try anything else). Dumplings, fish quality and miso soup was good. The rice was terrible. It was mushy low quality…I normally can eat 2-3 rolls no problem. Didn’t even finish the two rolls I got.

Atmosphere was fine…the bonus was when a worker rolled a Walmart shopping cart through the restaurant with a bunch of apple juice and then leave the cart outside the front door of the restaurant.

Overall I’m sure a lot of the food here Is good. Today the sushi rice was NOT good and ruined the meal. Won’t be going back for sushi…may try it again for something else.

Spent a lot of money, and items were missing, couldn't call back to discuss, and the food ended up being quite terrible. The katsu was burned, the sushi was not fresh, the shumai was squishy, and the rest of the food was extremely bland. Very high prices for poor quality. We have given these guys so many chances, but we always end up getting sick. We really wished these guys were good because they're close to us, but they just disappoint us every time we order here. So we won't be coming here or ordering here again.

Great local spot to enjoy sushi and hibachi. I wanted to try something new, so the lovely waitress guided me through her favorites and I ordered the Redskin Roll and appetizer Edamame. Everything came out perfect and her recommendation was delicious. Will come again!

I found this place recently and I've been really happy with my meals here. Their is a good variety of dishes, but so far I'veonly gotten the hibachi. The hibachi is really good I would recommend it. And if you need gluten free, they can make almost all dishes gluten free on request (some substitute maybe necessary). I found the waitress very knowledgeable and helpful.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available for almost the entire menu.

This is our Go-To sushi spot! Coming from NYC, it has been hard to find a decent sushi spot that is consistently good... this place fits that bill. They have extremely fresh, delicious rolls and yummy appetizers. I personally don't care for their Hibachi (they cook it in the back), but my husband and daughter love their teriyaki dishes. The kani salad and Red Dragon rolls are our absolute favorite menu items. The atmosphere is nothing amazing, which I like in a local spot, but it is clean and quiet, so if you're looking for a trendy place... you should look elsewhere... besides that, my advice is to give it a go.

After exiting the restaurant, the waitress followed my family outside. She wanted to tell us that we did not tip enough. On this given night, my mother who was visiting us wanted to pay the bill, and my mother is not a big tipper. So I could understand where the waitress’ frustration was coming from. The waitress expected more tip from my mom…… and unfortunately my mom was not willing to tip more. My mom is an elderly lady with limited funds, and so I could understand her point of view, too.

The waitress went on to explain that she expected 18%, and my mom put a little less than even 10%. I could see my mom’s reaction, and I understood right away that my mom was not in a position to tip more than that.

At this point I interjected… I felt like the waitress was “demanding” that my mom voluntarily tip more than ~10%. I interjected by excusing ourselves from the whole conversation, and the waitress walked away saying, “next time, don’t pick us!”

What a terrible experience…. I’ve been to Sakura before. I have tipped their staff well during my previous visits. In this particular visit, I learned that I will never return to Sakura.

Tip is optional here. I know that the wait staff depend on tip to be able to earn a descent income, and that it is a large portion of their take home. I personally also used to work for tip at one point in my career, so I can complete empathize. But nothing changes the fact that tip is optional. You cannot “demand” for a tip. That’s against the rules of civilization.

Food was good yet nothing special. The service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is somewhat drab and worn-out feeling.Go for a special if offered and an absolute surprise.
