My family is from Canton area. This place is very good and is chinese themed, meant to share the dishes with others. We got the scallion pancakes, mapo tofu, chongqing spicy chicken, spicy crispy tofu, and boiled fish with vegetables. Very good authentic Chinese food!

I’m a known chef visiting VCU in Richmond, Virginia and saw there were great Chinese places. Since 1981 I’ve loved however not found many legit shredded pork in garlic sauce dishes. They nailed it, this classic Sichuan dish . When she placed on the table I had flash backs to Houston Texas the last time I actually ordered the dish as every place did it no justice. I hosted a small group dinner at Cheng Du and it was great! The seating was perfect for the party, the food was tasty, and everyone was able to order to their preference. My partner and I are vegan and there are a number of items on the menu for our needs, which is always nice. The dry fried tofu was awesome and highly recommended.
