This is the spot. I came here first for The Writers Den slam and I kept coming back for the angel wings, fries and grown Arnold Palmer. 100% will be returning because I can't stop thinking about the wings.

Black Owned!!! When I tell you I've never had chicken like this before!! AMAZING make sure you order the Angle sauce on your chicken with sweet potatoes fries. Thank me later❤️

Meatloaf, Mac and cheese, and potato salad all were on point and delicious, my new favorite, updated meatloaf still good but taste of sides not consistent with first visit.

Ordered two dinners. Or shud I say entrees bcuz sides and all are rung up separately. I asked for my chicken to be cooked hard. It was done. Just not hard. With no seasoning. Just bland. She forgot my Mac and cheese tryna advertise some chicken I didn’t want. The Smothered turkey wings looked tasty just not the best presentation. Very sloppy. And then the cook over sold the plate by bringing it to the counter and proceeded with gravy n chime topping. Let’s do that in the kitchen. Overall good people and vibes tho. I give em an e effort. Work on that seasoning and presentation and it’ll be great!

Food was delicious, prepared fresh and the service was excellent. Our party of 12 truly enjoyed our dining experience at Sunday Service. Try the sampler platter it’s amazing!

The food is amazing. However, the restaurant seems to be run as a side hustle. They don’t stick to their hours (that they just updated a week ago). Opening late, closing kitchen two hours early, website no longer paid for, menus different on every third party site. This isn’t just one instance. It’s just a mess. Just go to Mama J’s.

Food was good but I really enjoyed the waffle. The waffle taste like it was made from scratch. I would definitely return to try other dishes.The ambiance was very relaxing and the owners were very pleasant.

We just tried the food for the first time on yesterday. Although the food has lots of flavor, it was so salty and greasy. The green beans were so dark and shriveled, I couldn't eat them. I ended up throwing all 3 meal orders away. So unfortunate.

I waited almost 2 hours for a call in order. Got home late night ready to eat and the Food was not seasoned at all. Pork chops no seasoning at all. Meatloaf hunk of meat no taste. Rice mushy. Green beans scorched. I wasted 40.00. Mac and cheese aghhh. I am so angry about this. Never again!

This place was incredibly disappointing. I went during the evening service into “night life” and the service was 0/10. I purchased a hookah from the plus size woman (I personally do not mean any harm as I am plus sized myself - but I wasn’t provided her name) and she gave me the worst attitude the entire evening. I purchased a hookah - and after inspection, it had small coal pieces. I then asked for a refill of coal as this ran out immediately, and they wanted to charge an additional $10… Never in my experience have I had to pay for a refill of coal even when it was sufficient, now it feels like you purposely provided me with already low coal to make a profit. The food had no flavor to it and was completely overpriced. I payed $16 for 5 wings. I would never in my life recommend this place, the bathrooms were disgusting and the service was terrible. I came to have an enjoyable time with friends and all we were served were poor personalities and subpar meals. We will never return to this establishment again. For your best interest, my friends and I would recommend that you never come to this location ever. Please, do yourself a favor and spend your money and politeness elsewhere.

My parents favorite items are the Turkey Wings, the Mac and cheese, the cabbage, and they can't get enough!!! This place is a real treasure from the friendly owners, to the helpful staff and bartenders. The menu is extensive with all your staple soul-food inspired favorites, and even some tasty vegan options for those that are interested. This space also has great options for special event rentals if you're looking to host private events. Don't hesitate to reach out to them, their extremely communicative and easy to work with!!! Weeeee LOVE IT HERE!!!

We've been hosting monthly events here for local makers and it's truly been a great experience working with Sunday Service Soul Food. @handmadeinrva x @forthefeminyou have been able to successfully bring #BLACKWOMANFLEA to life. The community has completely supported our efforts, and the staff at this venue has been so helpful with set-up and break-down. These folks are on point, book them for all your future event needs❤️

Stopped by here for the 1st time. Never knew it was here and I've been pass it many times. We went in and it just so happened that that people were doing poetry and singing and also venders were selling things like jewelry and fragrances. This was pretty awesome while we waited for our food. The food was great as well. Definitely soulfood.

Wanted to give it a 0 but the Waitress get the one star, she was multitasking , the food was cold the rice was not cooked . The smothered chicken was not smothered. The mac & cheese was from a box the games were nasty call a greens or a cold then they didn’t have a bartender and the waitress made me a drink with a water cup with ice. Telling me this was the right cup . Impossible when DaBartender came she gave me the correct size and didn’t charge me. They never tried to compensate the bill only told me that they’ll make me a new plate to go I didn’t like the plate to stay .it’s so hard to find good food , all these places scream Southern and scream they can cook. Overprice dissatisfied . I refused tho pay a dime for the food I didn’t eat . I work too hard . Peace I’m out . This bill is on u
