Great shop! Nice little cafe with a coffee shop, baked goods, and even beer and wine. I was out riding when my cleat came off. These guys were great and fixed it for free!

I was hopeful about this place after hearing good reviews from my triathlon teammates and its location, but had several terrible experiences (from the same person, possibly a manager or owner). First, I took my tri bike in to have the pedals removed - the person who helped me was quite nice, but this other man came up and launched into an unsolicited and condescending lesson in the difference between disc brakes and rim brakes. Weird to assume I don't know the difference, and I wouldn't have given it another thought had the same person not approached me the very next time I came in. This time it was my brand-new road bike that was making a weird sound when I changed gears for the second half of my 40mi ride. After looking at the bike he informed me the screws were messed up. Curious, I asked which ones, to which he scolded me "the ones you weren't supposed to touch!" - I hadn't touched a thing. Ultimately, he refused to tell me anything related to the repair, but had me pay for adjusting the derailleur - not sure why that would have been difficult to explain.During my time at the shop waiting for work on my bike, I also witnessed this same man lecture a woman that it's stupid to ride with platform pedals when she complained about her bike making a noise. In the same visit, another woman came in to rent a bike and was allowed to leave and ride down the trail without a helmet.I am a very seasoned triathlete of 15+ years. Both experiences left me thinking that my race, gender and/or body type is what makes me a less-than-ideal customer for this shop.

The customer service at this place is amazing! I would highly recommend Green Lizard for all your biking needs.

The staff was helpful, knowledgeable and honest. I initially was considering a more expensive bicycle, but when I explained that I was trying to replace a specific fixed-gear that was destroyed in a car accident, the staff guided me to an even better replacement that was significantly more economical.I plan on continuing to stop by for tune-ups and coffee as I pass by on the W&OD.

A great bike shop goes beyond just selling products and becomes an experience. The Green Lizard Cycle Shop in Herndon, Virginia is clearly one of those shops that stand out as an experience. It's the atmosphere, the expertise of the staff, and the community it fosters. Just ask anyone who has visited this place. It's my third visit. The Green Lizard is a haven for cycling enthusiasts who appreciate the finer things in life. What caught my eye immediately was that they carry the Brompton line of bikes. A Brompton Bike is a marvel of engineering! It's a folding bicycle that's known for its compact size, durability, and ease of use.The Green Lizard also focuses on quality and performance, attracting cyclists who are passionate about their gear and appreciate expert advice. Imagine sleek carbon fiber frames, innovative components, and personalized fittings for the perfect ride.Their in-store coffee shop creates a welcoming atmosphere where cyclists can fuel up before, during, or after their rides. Picture delicious coffee aromas mixing with the buzz of conversation and the clinking of bike spokes.#GreatBikeShops

If you are shopping for a high end bike, make Green Lizard your first and likely your last store to visit. The best first step is to have Clovis find the right fit for your new bike based on how you sit on your existing bike. He was able to show me, based on videos he takes, how I would fit and feel on various types of bike frames including an endurance and climbing style of bike. Once you pick out the bike, it is built for your specifications by their professional and experienced service department. You will find more brands and styles of high end bikes at the Green Lizard than any other bike shop in the area.Green Lizard is the heart of the local and cycling community. In addition the owners, Dave and Beth, give back to those in need through their charitable non profit.

Green Lizard is our tried and true BREAK place. We get Italian sodas after playing on the Caboose. I refill my water bottle and get refueling chews while on long runs. It is our happy stop, it has everything we need, and I’m so grateful it’s here!

Coffee, food, and good beer as well as a full service bike shop right next to the trailI just purchased and picked up a Santa Cruz bike from these guys and the customer service was great. Took a nice test ride down the trail, came back. They made some adjustments while I had a celabratory beer at their cafe. Probably my favorite shop in the DC, Baltimore region. They had several mechanics working hard in the back too. Great place!

Unfortunately I can’t give a combined rating for this, 5 stars for the bike section crew, cycling goods for sale and mechanics are great but 0 stars or even minus for the people in the coffee area, beforehand I have to say that none of us suffer of feeling less important than any other human being but unfortunately one can feel the racism and dislike of many people towards the Latino community, in two opportunities they have been really disrespectful and showing a racist attitude against my latino crew, the first time, couple months ago one of them was so despicable to us so we complained, that person not even comes close to us when we go, I guess she hates us, we decided to go back again because is a good place to gather before starting a ride and then drinking something at the end of the ride, we had to ask one of cafeteria attendants why she was so mean to us and she was not the only one, the one serving the beer was mean and inpatient as well, when we told her that we were gonna place a complaint the only thing she said was “good luck” and started to attend all the white clients with extreme kindness and loudly and looked at us. Again, 5 stars for the cycling crew.

They tuned up my bike before an Ironman race. It’s great. Also, best iced chai latte I’ve had. They blow Starbucks out of the water on that one. Good selection of beer, decent inventory, and solid location right off the trail.

I really want to like this place. Best hours of the bike shops around. However, I took my bikes in for tuneups and when I got it back I complained that the braking was spongy. They said all their disc brakes are like this. I went home, figured out online what I needed, bought new pads and a hydraulic fluid bleed kit. Inspecting the pads showed wear to the metal. I found air bubbles in the fluid causing the sponginess. I had to fix this all myself because they were gaslighting me into thinking it was all in my head. Sorry, this is terrible service.
