Im originally from NY. Moved to the DMV in 94. Ive been going here for decades. I moved to the west coast in 2011, but come back for work every summer and THE DELI is absolutely one spot I ALWAYS go to to grab a sandwich (and a cannoli). The meat was fresh, the cannoli was delicious however the service was not great, there were no high chairs, and sandwiches were bland and expensive. Over $60 for 3 sandwiches and 2 cannoli
I was one of the Jewish and Italian Deli's first customers when it first opened, as I lived nearby in the Crestview Townhomes growing up. I recently went back to The Deli. The food is still as good today as it was when I first went there back in the early 1980s, and I love that the Redskins memorabilia is still there! Talk about memories.
