My husband lived in Japan for two years, and I visited every chance I got. I’m a ramen fein and this place is the closest, most tastiest, and most authentic that I’ve found in the DMV area. I’ve probably tried at least 15 places, and this place is the real deal. The dining room is small so make reservations if you plan to go. They have great pick-up/to go service and the food is still amazing when you get home. I haven’t tried the curry yet, because I love the ramen so much.. but I’ve heard it’s amazing and authentic. Tonkotsu is my favorite and theirs is OUTSTANDING!!

been coming here for 2 years now and it never disappoints. the quality and service are always consistent which honestly says a lot. the umai curry ramen is my go to so good every single time. but really you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. the drinks and desserts are great too. and the staff are always so friendly.

It is unclear to me how this place hasn’t gotten fancy awards yet. It is everything you want from a Ramen place. The food, the service, and the vibe are beyond fantastic. I visit town once a month for work and this is the fifth time i come in a row. I do not usually post reviews, but for Umai i have to. Highly recommended.

I LOVE this place!!!! I have not found anywhere that can/has beat THEM. I drive from Fredericksburg to get their ramen. I started eating there when I was working in that area. Trust and believe if they had a store closer I would be there at least 3 times a week! Me personally, I don't think there is any place that can beat them, they are just as authentic as the ramen I ate for 3 years while living in Japan and I ate there at least twice a week, sometimes i would eat them twice a day (on my lunchbreak and dinner). I really wish they would open a store closer to Fredericksburg. If there was a rating of 10 or 100 I would give them the highest rating! The reason that the amount i spend is as much as it is, is that I get extra meat and extra noodles 🍜
