Rio Grande Mexican Grill & Cantina

Only a couple of hundred yards from the motel we spent the night at. Our first time here. Not crowded when we arrived, but it had begun to fill up as we finished. It looked to me that it is popular with the locals. The items we had for dinner were well prepared and tasty. The Grande plate is literally the best deal in town! My family loves this place! It takes us a little out of the way to get to Hillsville for supper but it is always worth it! I love Mexican food, and I have to say this restaurant must have snatched up the best chef for the area bc their food has the most authentic flavor than anywhere else in the three local counties. We’re staying at a nearby hotel . We chose Rio Grande because it had a full bar available. We ordered two jumbo margaritas at just 9 bucks a piece . Those weren’t special, kinda trac. Then my chicken soup came. Off the charts ! Lotsa shredded chicken, homemade broth, pico and sliced avocado. Slurp—ahh! My husband had a jumbo burrito, he raved .
