Holy Mackerel VA Reviews
We had lunch today and it took 1 hour for 2 sandwiches. The hush puppies were cold and food tasted okay. The waiter did not let us know what was going on so we had keep asking.
Complete and utter disappointment this was. Never got my food after waiting for over an hour and 10 minutes. The party of 6 that was seated 15 minutes after me received theirs within 20 mins. This place is trash.
Menu
Holy Mackerel VA has now transformed into The Salty Siren, a seafood restaurant in a great waterside location. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is friendly. The menu includes delicious dishes, such as crab dip, oyster po'boy, and chicken pasta, which many have enjoyed. However, some customers noted that the food quality can be inconsistent, with a recent lunch experience described as just OK and not worth the prices. The service experience has varied; while some praised the attentiveness of the waitstaff, others have expressed concerns about slow service and attention. As the new owners work on updates, including a bar area downstairs and plans for outdoor music, customers are hopeful for improvements in food and service. Overall, recommendations for The Salty Siren are mixed, with some eager to return and others remaining cautious while adjustments are made.
