“We went to Houndstooth to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I wished we had been able to also stay at the B&B. The 5-course meal was outstanding, delicious, and filling! The wine pairings and cocktails were also spot on and delicious! We will be coming back again.”

The taste is like no other and the portions are crazy they provide with their platters. The hush puppies are cooked perfectly every time. Food is prepared efficiently and served with a smile with each visit. Highly recommend you visit this hidden treasure in the valley.”

“We went for lunch on a sunny Saturday. All that was available outside was a table without an umbrella, which we took. But when an umbrella table opened up we were switched. Just one example of the superb service. Both the curry chicken and pulled pork were excellent. Best Pommes Frites ever. Beautiful setting. And dog friendly outside!”

“I came to celebrate my birthday with a group of seven friends. We originally had a reservation for six people and I added an additional two, in a seprate online reservation. I called ahead to let them know we were running late. We were told it was okay and they would still be able to accommodate us. When we arrived my party was at two separate tables. One table was for two and the other was for six. I asked the waitress if it was possible to move the two guest to our table of six. She said "no" and I said "okay, I understand." Then the general manger Ken Gray came over yelling at my me and my table of guests. He aggressively told me that they can't do that, however, it was unnecessary because it was already understood and accepted. We enjoyed our $800 tasting until, Ken Gray came back again, aggressively telling us that we needed to get up because the next party was there. I proceeded to get up to go outside and he came back again after I left yelling at my guests. I felt discriminated against and definitely did not feel welcomed at Crimson Lane Vineyards as an African American woman. I was extremely disappointed in Ken Gray's aggressive behavior. It put a damper on my birthday celebration!”

If you don’t mind live music, poetry, comedy, or a little show-and-tell energy, the back room is its own experience … it feels alive. The staff has always been solid too; some are award-winning mixologists and artists themselves. Catamount brings a real breath of life to the community. Highly recommend if you want something authentic, warm, and creatively alive.”

“We’re accustomed to authentic Italian cuisine, and this place did not disappoint! We ordered the manicotti, baked ziti, chicken parmesan, and their meatballs — every dish was delicious, and the sauce was absolutely perfect. The salads were fresh, and everything came out at just the right time.

Our server, Ian, was helpful, attentive, and made the experience even better.

We’re disappointed we don’t live closer since we’re from out of town, but this restaurant is truly a hidden gem that we’ll remember. Highly recommend to anyone who loves genuine Italian food done right!”
