Last month, I had the opportunity to do a tasting at the distillery in Rappahannock County, VA.I selected to do the the 4 sample tasting and I chose to let the distillery choose between the gins and vodkas I should try.Grapes from Rappahannock Cellars are used to create the spirits that are bottled and served. You can also purchase hand crafted cocktails based on your liquor preference.Once you finish your distillery tasting, head next door to try the wines at Rappahannock Cellars.

I went with my group Melanin on the Move over the "Holiday" to the Stribling Orchard and This Dida's distillery!!.. we had a tasting and a Cocktail.. sooo many Options from sour to sweet to creamy to straight up! On the rocks too!!! Tom was a wonderfully great sweet funny host!!!.. the set up was niiiice the distillery itself was amazing!!... everyone got different things!! But I had the French 75 I think it was called!! It was lemon based and for me to not like lemon as a drink drink besides lemonade that thang was some Kinda GoooooooooT!! I would've gotten another one but with chips and a piece of pound cake we all would've been stumbling or just sitting til it wore off!! the samplers brandy , double cinnamon vodka was very different but good!!... they had a bit of everything!! I ran into the other right next door kind of to the winery area it's all in one big space and Mike I think his name was I purchased two infused oils Black Truffle and Garlic!! My experience was definitely one to return for!! Kateri was in the winery part she was so niice as well.

Tom guided us through our selections and served up some incredible cocktails! The area is small and quaint but we enjoyed everything we tried. The Old Fashioned, Hot Russian, and Cinnamon Cappuccino Martini were all very good. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful venue. The vista's were amazing. There are rocks for kids to play on while parents relax. There's a winery and distillery. I did a sampling of the distilled alcohol. They have vodka, brandy, gin and cinnamon vodka. The vodka was amazing. If you visit, get a distillery map! Visit 10, and get a tshirt!

Dida's is a fairly young distillery that's part of the better known Rappahannock Cellars winery operation. I didn't know what to expect when I visited as part of my distillery quest, but I was very happy with the experience. I ordered their tasting option with 3 liquor samples and a cocktail. For the liquors, I tried their gin, their barrel rested gin, and their brandy. As a winery's distillery that I believe was founded to make brandy for their port, I was most pumped to try their brandy, which didn't disappoint. Very smooth with some nice, subtle flavors. I didn't know what to expect from their gin, but was very pleasantly surprised (and brought a bottle home). I've had a number of other Virginia gins, which I generally like, that distinguish themselves by having botanical blends that are very different from the typical London Dry Gin... They'll replace juniper with oolong tea or something. Dida's chose a different course. They use a more traditional juniper and coriander botanical blend but introduce it to the vapor rather than soaking it in the later liquid neutral spirit. It results in a drink that has some traditional gin essence but feels very light and smooth on the palate. While I heard other customers give rave reviews of cocktails made with it, I think it's an unusually good gin to drink straight either as an aperitif or as an evening porch sipper on a hot day. For my cocktail, I got a sidecar. It was great. It was a smooth lemon-forward drink that was almost a thirst quencher. My girlfriend got their seasonal drink, a toasted almond with house made amaretto. She loved it. I hadn't ordered it because, even though I like almond-vanilla flavors, I'm suspicious of amaretto, which is often syrupy and cloyingly sweet. But I tasted hers and saw the light. It wasn't syrupy at all... just the light essence of the best almond pastry infused into a smooth, delicate spirit. The bar is manned by a very knowledgeable (and nice and unpretentious) guy who is deeply knowledgeable about their product and also a relatable guy. I don't know how to compare Dida's to other distilleries I've visited, but it's a great place that you won't regret visiting.

Been really looking forward to coming here. It did not disappoint. Ask for Tom, he will take you through everything and make sure you get the right drinks and the right taste. Highly recommend the brandy.

Nice vodka and gin selection...wish they had more whiskey and/or bourbon type spirits.

Dida’s spirits are so smooth and delish. If you haven’t tried these grape based spirits, you are missing out!!!

Dallas was a wonderful host, full of knowledge about the product. Space is small and due to Virginia laws, the wine and spirits can not mix. Regardless, tasty spirits, welcoming host, and enjoyable cocktails. Worth stepping over if at the winery.

We went to visit Rappahannock Cellars and we're surprised to learn about the distillery. Great vodka, gin, and brandy. Hopefully, Caleb will be working. He's a great host!

Distillery inside and associated with Rappahannock Cellars. All of the spirits are grape based. As of October they have a plain vodka, cinnamon vodka, brandy, gin, and a barrel rested gin. The grape base makes for an interesting mouthfeel. The gin is juniper forward with a citrus finish. The barrel rested gin was good and smoothed all of the flavors.

Bit of a brandy n*** - I was impressed by the Brandy here. It's vibrant and complex despite it's youth. Look forward to trying subsequent releases! The gin was solid too.
