Rappahannock Cellars

We had a lovely (if chilly) February visit to Rappahannock cellars. There is a large outdoor seating area with fire pits, which was nice until the sun disappeared behind the mountain. (Dogs are only allowed outside, which was why we were braving the patio in February). We had a glass of the rose, which had nice strawberry notes while being very crisp, dry, and refreshing. My friend found out about this winery a year or so ago, and we've had 3 group visits since. It's really a lovely property and very spacious for groups. Once it was warm enough to sit on the covered rooftop and it was super nice. The last time we went, it was quite chilly out, so we sat inside at one of the lounge areas with comfy couches and the bar/tasting area nearby. I think they also have patio tables near the entrance. I really don’t need any excuse to check out one of the many Virginia Wineries in the northern Virginia area and I was so excited when an organized tour was put together to visit the winery.This was my first time checking out establishment in Huntly, VA. The unique aspect about this establishment that they distill spirits and process wine on site.
